However, a lot of users may be new to apps like Zoom, Google Meet, and Google Hangouts and might be having trouble navigating it well. It may be easy to present visuals and powerpoints on a face-to-face meeting, but the big question of many is, “How can you do that on an online meeting?”
The simplest way to do it would be to screen-share, but novice users of Google Hangouts might not be familiar with how it works. Thus, to lessen the hassle and confusion for you, here’s a guide that can help. In five easy steps, you’ll know about the process of screen sharing in Google Hangouts.
1. Visit the Google hangouts website then sign in to your account.
Open your browser and navigate to Google Hangouts, ensuring that your account is logged in. If not, make sure to use your Gmail account to log in.
2. Select “Contacts” on the left tab.
Google Hangouts has four tabs on the left: Menu, Contacts, Conversations, and More. Select “Contacts,” and all of your Google Hangouts friends and colleagues will be displayed on the screen.

3. Place the cursor over the name of the person you wish to call.
Look through all of your contacts, then find the individual with whom you want to meet and share a screen. Place your cursor on the name of the person you want to call, and a small pop-up window will appear next to it. To initiate a video call, click the camera icon in that box.

4. Click the three dots on the top-right corner of the screen and select “Share screen.”
On the video call screen, click the three dots in the upper right corner. You will then have the option to share your screen or go fullscreen. A pop-up window will open once you select “Share Screen.”

5. Select your preferred window or screen to share.
You’ll be able to share your complete screen or just a selected window. If you wish to share your whole screen, choose the “Entire Screen” option and directly click the “Share” button.

However, if you only want to share a particular screen with someone, select “Window.” Doing so will display all currently open windows, and you can then select the window you want to share. When you’ve decided on the final window to display, click the “Share” button.

Remember that when you click the “Share” button, the screen or window you selected will be instantly and immediately visible to everyone on the call.
