No wonder you want to open the clipboard on your Chromebook to choose the stuff you recently copied. Is that possible on the Chromebook? Here, we will answer that question for you. Keep reading to find out more.
How to Access the Clipboard on Your Chromebook?
Every time you copy, paste, and cut, these actions are stored in the clipboard. This is a data storage that can be used for a short time. This storage allows you to transfer stuff between applications and documents by copy-pasting them.
If you open the clipboard, you can select what you want to copy next. However, the Chromebook doesn’t have a typical clipboard as other operating systems have. You can only copy and paste one thing. You can’t use it to copy multiple things and choose from your clipboard list what you want to paste next.
In other words, you can only save/copy one thing at a time. If you want to access the clipboard on a Chromebook, you should add extensions on your browser. One such extension is the Clipboard History Pro. You can use it to manage your clipboard on any device, including the Chromebook.
All you have to do is add the extension to your Chrome browser. Once you install it, you can access it via the browser like any other extension. To do that, open your Google Chrome. Click on the icon in the extension bar.
You will see a list of all the things you copied that are now saved to your clipboard. To use that list, click on the grey button on the left. The button will turn green and say, “copied.” It means you have successfully copied the link from your clipboard. Now, all you have to do is simply paste it in your document or wherever you want to use it.
If you want to save that specific link and find it easier the next time you scroll through your clipboard, you can set it as favorite. Simply click on the little star on the right side of the menu. If it glows orange, it means the link is set to favorite.
If you change your mind, click on the little star again, and the link will no longer be set as favorite. This extension makes the clipboard easy to manage. It remembers all the stuff you copied hours ago. It is extremely convenient, especially if you copy and paste stuff all the time.
Conclusion
Even though the Chromebook doesn’t have a typical clipboard as other operating systems do, you can still access it. The best way to do it is to download extensions on your Google Chrome. Now that you know how to do it go ahead and give this extension a try. Let us know if you found it helpful in the comments below.
