How To View A Powerpoint File On A Chromebook

It is perfect for presenting, editing, and writing. But, for anyone who has purchased the Chromebook for the first time, it can be a bit tricky to get used to the different interface. Here, we will focus on one particular app which is very popular. That is PowerPoint. 

PowerPoint is something people use a lot due to its presentation tools. It is quite a handy app. It is functional and has plenty of different features. If you created a PowerPoint file or downloaded it and now you can’t find it, we will help you. 

That’s why we created this simple guide for you. The idea is to show you the ropes. How to find the PowerPoint files on your Chromebook. All you have to do is follow these simple steps and you will find it in no-time. 

Let’s say someone sent you a PowerPoint presentation on your e-mail. If you’ve downloaded that PowerPoint file, the file will appear in “Downloads”. But, if you saved the presentation yourself, it will be in the Google Drive. Here, we will show you how to access it. 

Step 1

The first thing you are going to see when you turn on the Chromebook is the desktop. On your desktop, look for the menu. In this particular example it is on the bottom left side of the screen. What you are looking for is the “Apps” icon. See the screenshot below. Click on it.

Then, click on “Files”. This is where all of the stuff you have on your Chromebook will be. Whether they are Word documents, images or PowerPoint presentations. Open it.

If you downloaded the PowerPoint presentation, go to “Downloads” from the left side of the menu. Click on it. If you saved it to your Google Drive, it will immediately appear under the “Name” section. Look for the file. Double-click to open it. 

When you open a PowerPoint presentation, you can edit it. You can add pages or delete pages to make sure it is the way you want it to. The changes will be automatically saved to your device. Don’t worry about closing it. If you want to reopen the same file, just double-click it. 

You can even share the presentation in real-time. This way, you can work on it with your colleagues or friends.
