How to send emojis during your meetings on Google Meet

If you want to give out feedback during your meetings on Google Meet without using your microphone, you can use the different emoji reactions during the meeting. In this way, you won’t disturb the current speaker.

You can use the emoji reactions whether you’re using Google Meet on your phone or computer. We’ll cover the steps for both devices in our tutorials below.

On your computer:

  1. Visit the Google Meet web client on your browser and sign in to your account.
  2. Join a meeting or start a new one.
  3. During a meeting, click the emoji icon among the meeting options.

  4. Choose the emoji that you want to display at the meeting.

After choosing an emoji reaction, it will appear on the meeting for a few moments. Everyone in the meeting room can see the reactions you display.

On your phone:

  1. Launch the Meet app from your home screen or app drawer and sign in to your account.
  2. Join an existing meeting or host one.
  3. While participating in a meeting, tap More options (three dots icon).

  4. Choose the emoji reaction that you want to use.

That’s how you use emoji reactions on Google Meet. If you can’t use reactions during a meeting, it means that the admin or host disabled it.

As the host of a meeting, you can access the host control options to disable reactions for every participant.
