Do you want to monitor your projects with visualizations or graphs on Asana? Or do you want to compare the progress of different works? If so, you create a chart on the app. Check our quick tutorial below, and we’ll show you how to create a custom chart on Asana.

Tutorial

In Asana, you can handle multiple projects within your workspace. To monitor them in one place, you can create portfolios in your workspace.

However, portfolios only give little information about the projects that you add to the list. If you want to use graphs, visualizations, or view more data, you can create a chart instead.

Here’s our guide to creating new charts in Asana.

How to create a custom chart on Asana

If you want to track a project with graphs or visualizations on Asana, you can create a chart on the app. In this way, you can quickly understand the team’s progress without interpreting the data by yourself.

You can create customized chart dashboards from the Asana web app. Follow our tutorial below, and we’ll show you how to do so.

Creating a custom chart on Asana:

  1. Visit the Asana website on your browser and sign in to your account.
  2. Click “Reporting” from the menu located on the left side of your screen.

  3. Click the “Add dashboard” button below the header.

  4. Click the “Add custom chart” option on the window that appears on your screen.

  5. Select the style that you want to use on your chat.

  6. Change the other settings and click Create on the bottom right to confirm your decision.

That’s how you create a custom chart on Asana. If you’re having a hard time making a custom dashboard off the bat, you can explore the available templates to find the one that suits your team best.

After creating a chart, you can edit it to change its style, the projects it monitors, and other information. If you no longer need one of your charts, you can delete it from the Reporting tab.

Please note that charts are only available to workspaces with a paid subscription. You can’t use this feature on free workspaces on the app.
