When you create a workspace in Notion, the app will display a letter (based on its name) as the icon. However, you have the option to customize the appearance of your workspace and choose an icon that you like.

Choosing an icon to represent your workspace can help you find it faster among your other workspaces on the app. It also makes your workspace look great and professional.

How to add an icon to your workspace in Notion

If you have a brand or logo that you use with your team or company, you can upload it as an icon on one of your Notion workspaces. On the other hand, you can choose from the available icons and emojis on the app and use them as your icon.

You can choose an icon from the Notion desktop or web app. Check our tutorials below, and we’ll teach you how to do so.

On your computer:

  1. Open the Notion desktop or web app and sign in to your account.
  2. Click “Settings & Members” on the sidebar.

  3. Head to “Settings” under the Workspace section and click the icon.

  4. Select from the available emojis and icons, or upload a custom photo from your computer.

That’s how you change or workspace icon on Notion. Only admins and owners can change this option on your workspace.

If you want to upload a custom image, try using one with 280×280 pixels for the best results. Also, make sure that the image you upload isn’t over 5 MB in size, otherwise, the upload will fail.

Unfortunately, you can’t upload a workspace icon from the Notion mobile app. However, you can visit their web client on your phone’s browser, sign in to your account, and change your settings from there.
