How To Turn The Firestick Volume Down

If you just bought a Firestick device, you must learn how to control it to achieve the best experience possible. As you will see, learning how to control everything is quite simple. However, you could have a hard time finding an app, installing a new channel, or even changing the volume level on your Firestick. But don’t worry, there is always a solution for any of these and other problems.

The Firestick is a gadget that allows you to watch your favorite series and shows, without hiring a TV-network service. You can watch YouTube, Netflix, and have access to some news and sports channels. Or if you prefer, you can use it to stream music with Spotify.

All that is needed to set up your device is a WiFi network, a TV with an HDMI input, and, of course, your Firestick device. Then you just have to learn how to control it and all the tricks behind it. By reading this guide, you will learn how to turn the volume down, or up, on your Firestick. Yes, it might sound dumb. You might be asking; the controller doesn’t have a volume button? Sadly, no. Only the brand new Firestick 4K or the second generation Firestick has dedicated volume buttons on the remote control. If you have the old device, you won’t be able to change the volume settings with the firestick remote. Therefore, you must use either the TV or the speaker remote.  So, let’s begin.

Step 1

Scroll right if the top menu until you get to the settings option. Once you find it, click to enter the settings menu.

Step 2

Once you are inside the settings menu, swing right again until you see the display and sound option. It should be the third option from left to right; click on it.

Step 3

Inside the display and sound menu, you will find several different options such as screen savers and mirroring; head all the way down. Check the that HDMI CEC Device Control option is enabled. Check your audio TV settings as well.

Step 4

Head to settings again and go to the equipment control section; it is next to display and sound.

Step 5

Now pick up the audio device that you wish to control. In this case, choose the TV option. You have to set up your TV. Just follow the on-screen instruction; it will take a couple of minutes.

Step 6

After setting up the remote controller, head to advanced settings and make sure that the audio control device options say TV. Now, you are good to go!

If you wish to use a speaker as your TV’s audio output, you must link it. To do it, choose the add equipment option inside the equipment control section. Follow the on-screen instructions, as you did before, and make sure that it is the main audio control device.

Now you can control your volume with the firestick remote. Remember that this only works with new Firestick devices. The old versions don’t have the equipment control options. Therefore, you have to set up the volume levels using the TV remote control.
