How To Turn On Twitch Whispers

“Psst…Are you there?” Whispering your friends, subscribers, and followers is the best way to chat privately on Twitch. Your whisper will pop up in a private chat where you can talk about anything. If you watch a stream or a video together, you can share a thing or two about that video.

As long as both of you are online, you will have no problem whispering each other. But, how do you enable this feature? Here we will answer that question for you. Plus, we will show you all the options you can do to whisper someone. No matter who it is. So, without further ado, let’s get started!

How to Enable Whispers?

The cool thing about this feature is that everyone has access to the whispering option. When this option was first released, everyone could use it. You don’t need to enable it or disable it. All you have to do is figure out the way to use it.

If let’s say, the whispering option was disabled upon release, people would have trouble noticing it exists. That’s why Twitch didn’t implement a toggle ON/OFF option. Instead, they made sure that everyone has access to the whisper feature.

How Do You Whisper People?

If you want to know how to whisper someone, you’ve come to the right place. We will show you all the options you can use to whisper anyone on chat. This is a cool way to engage in a private conversation. No one else will be joining you on that chat. It will be just you and your friend. So, how do you do it?

Well, the first thing you want to do is go to your chat room. Find the person you want to talk to. Click on their name and you will see a small menu pop up. Here, what you want to do is press on the “Whisper” button. It’s right under their name. This will open a new private chat window where you can type with ease.

If you don’t want to waste time scrolling through a full chatroom with thousands and thousands of people, you can always whisper that person directly. What you want to do is type in chat “/w username”. Then, write the message you want to send. Make sure to add space between “/w” and “Username”.

Replace the word “Username” with the actual username of the person you want to whisper. When you are done, click on “Whisper”. Your friend will now receive a direct private message from you in a new chat window.

That’s about it! Now you know how to use the whisper option on Twitch. This is a handy feature you will use all the time.

Conclusion
