How To Turn Off Stories On Signal

How to disable stories on Signal

If you’re not fond of the stories feature on Signal, you can disable it for your account. When you turn off stories, you won’t be able to view or share them on the app.

You can turn off stories from your settings page on the Signal mobile app. In our tutorial below, we’ll cover the steps to do so.

On your phone:

1. Launch the Signal app on your device and sign in to your account.
2. Tap your profile icon to open your Settings page. Alternatively, you can tap More options (three dots icon) and select Settings from the menu.
   
   
3. Open your Stories settings.
   
   
4. Tap the Turn off stories option at the bottom of the page.
   
   
5. Tap the Turn off stories on the pop-up window to confirm your decision.

When you turn off stories on Signal, you won’t be able to view stories of your contacts. On the other hand, you won’t be able to share them on your account as well.

If you ever change your mind, you can always enable the feature back on. If you want to hide your stories from specific contacts, you can manage who can view your posts on your account.

Please note that turning off your stories on the app deletes all the stories you shared recently. Always remember that your contacts on the app won’t know that you turned the story feature on your account.
