Need to learn how to turn off crossplay in Spellbreak? If you’re a console player sick of having to deal with mouse and keyboard players on PC, and would like to turn off crossplay with that (and every other) platform, this is the guide for you.
To turn off crossplay in Spellbreak, you have to play on PS4, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. You will need to go to your account settings and turn off crossplay from there. Once done, you won’t be matched with PC players, or players from other consoles. PC players cannot turn off crossplay.

How to Turn Off Crossplay in Spellbreak for Console
Turning off crossplay is very easy. Keep in mind however that you will not be able to turn off crossplay for PC.
Go to your lobby and press Y or Triangle to access the three horizontal bars on the upper right.
Go to “Account.” This will bring you to your account settings.
Check the box to enable or disable crossplay.
What is Crossplay in Spellbreak?
Spellbreak is a new battle royale-style game that sets itself apart from the rest by using magic as its main draw. Each spell interacts uniquely with another, which makes fights a constantly stressful encounter that requires quick reflexes and thinking.
The game was released for all major platforms: PC through the Epic Games store, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. As backwards compatibility is a feature for both the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5, you can expect to continue playing Spellbreak through there.
Crossplay is a feature of Spellbreak that lets you play with people using other consoles, or those on PC. If you have friends who play Spellbreak on other platforms, then this is a good way for you to game with them.
However crossplay, with all its advantages, poses a few disadvantages as well.
Disadvantages of Crossplay in Spellbreak
Crossplay in Spellbreak is fun and all, but it does pose a few disadvantages:
- Console players are stuck with their controllers. While they do have aim assist, it’s a lot harder to do flicks when playing Spellbreak. Controllers simply do not have the capacity to change your aim as quick as you would with a mouse.
- PC players will have the advantage in flicks and quick looking movement, but they have a disadvantage when tracking targets. Console players have aim assist that allows them to track targets much easier than when using a mouse and keyboard.
- Movement is tougher on console because of analog sticks, which take longer to register input compared to keyboards. That is why may console players may move slower compared to most people on keyboards.
Crossplay in Spellbreak is possible, but not always recommended. If you’re fine to play at a disadvantage, then you don’t have to turn it off!
Is Spellbreak Crossplay Worth It?
Is there a point to playing Spellbreak if you’re on console? With all the disadvantages heaped upon you, it might seem that keeping crossplay on for Spellbreak. For some, however, they find crossplay very much worth it.
People who have friends in both PC and console, for example, now have a way to play with their friends without buying another platform. Spellbreak is a multiplayer game after all, and is best played with friends.
There are players who are also very good with controllers. These are people who spent many hours playing games that require precise movement, such as many shooters and action games. They have more or less better control over analog sticks than they do with mouse and keyboard, sometimes better. For these people, playing crossplay is just a better challenge.
Crossplay is worth it for those who think it is. Solo players might not appreciate the disadvantages they have with crossplay, but those who play duos or squads in Spellbreak, especially those with friends on other platforms, will find the most use – and appreciation – of crossplay.
