How To Stop Twitch From Automatically Opening On Startup

Twitch is one of the most famous platforms in the world. Here people can stream their content and millions of people can watch and support them. This app has many amazing settings you can toggle. It has plenty of features you can experiment with.

The first thing we do when we get a new PC is we download all the favorite apps and games. We install software to use it however we see fit. But, what we often forget is that with a new computer, most of the apps we download will start by themselves the moment we turn the PC on.

If you’ve recently joined the Twitch community and you just downloaded the app, this is a problem you have probably noticed. It can be very annoying, especially if you don’t know how to get rid of it.

The moment you turn your PC on, Twitch starts right up. You don’t click on it. It just opens automatically.  This is a common problem for newcomers. If you want to know how you can prevent the program from starting automatically, you’ve come to the right place.

We will share an easy step-by-step guide with you. We will show you how you can deal with this problem in a matter of seconds. But, before we start with the guide, there is something to mention first.

The following screenshots have been taken on Windows 10. While the method is the same for all Windows, it may not look exactly identical. So, without further ado, let’s get right into it. Here is how you can stop Twitch from automatically opening on Startup.

Step 1

Go to an empty area on the Taskbar. The taskbar is the bottom menu on your screen. Right-click and select “Task Manager.”

Step 2

Now, this is the menu you are going to see. Here all the programs that are currently on are listed in the “Task Manager”. What you want to do is select the fourth menu from the top bar. Go to “Startup”. This is the menu you are looking for. See the screenshot below.

Step 3

Select the program you want. In this case, it is Twitch. You will see that in the status menu, the Twitch app is enabled. This means that whenever you turn your computer on, the program will automatically start on its own. Since we don’t want that, we will toggle that option off.

To do it, select the app and go to the bottom right corner and click “Disable”. Or, you can right-click the app and select “Disable”.

That’s it! Now you know how to stop Twitch from automatically opening when you turn your computer on.

As you can see, you can easily deal with this problem. Once you figure it out, Twitch or any other program won’t bother you anymore. You will quickly disable it from starting automatically. If you follow all the simple steps, you will do it in no-time. So, go ahead and try it out for yourself. It is time to disable the apps from starting up by themselves for good. Hopefully, you found this guide helpful.
