You can add a greeting message to your account from the WhatsApp Business app on your phone. Follow our quick tutorial below, and we’ll show you how to do it from an Android device.

On your Android phone:

  1. Open WhatsApp Business from your home screen or app drawer and sign in to your account.
  2. Tap the More options (three dots icon) on the top right corner and select “Business tools” from the menu.

  3. Select “Greeting message” under the Messaging section.

  4. Toggle “Send greeting message” and edit the message that you want to send to people that contact you on the app.
  5. Tap the “Save” option on the top right corner to apply the changes to your account.

That’s how you add a greeting message to your WhatsApp Business account. People that message you for the first time or after 2 weeks of no activity will receive this greeting message as your reply.

Although you can use your business account on the WhatsApp web client, you can’t add or edit your greeting message there. You’ll need to open the mobile app and edit your business tools to do so.
