Last Updated: January 24, 2020
Twitch is the most famous stream service used by the gaming community. It has millions of users all around the world who are constantly watching or streaming content. Besides, most pro-gamers use Twitch to stream their game sessions, which is one of the main reasons for its popularity.
You will find content about any game that you could possibly think of. Raging from The Sims to Age of Empires and Overwatch; Twitch has them all. So if you are passionate about games, their insights, and news, you will have a more than great using Twitch. You can even try to be a streamer yourself! How knows, maybe you have what is needed to create a great channel. Streamers with a large audience usually earn a lot of money, so don’t rule anything out.
But sitting too many hours in front of the PC is exhausting. Your back will be sore, and your eyes will hurt, especially if you play at night. Thankfully, Twitch developers created dark mode. It is like any other dark mode out there, just that this time you have it on Twitch.
The dark more is become more and more popular around all apps. And people are starting to use whether is night time or not. Usually, activating this feature is pretty simple as you will see in just a bit. The process is the same in both browser and desktop sessions.
Open your desktop app or go to Twitch’s official page https://www.twitch.tv/ and login to your account.
Go to the top right corner and click on your profile picture. This will open a menu with some options. You have to search for the one that says dark theme. It should be the third option from the top down; click on it.
Once you click it, the dark will be set as default; The Rolling Stones would be proud. As you can see, the new theme is more eye-friendly. In addition, it is less bright, which means that you can game and watch Twitch late at night without disturbing anyone! Or without nobody noticing it.
You might have noticed that the left sidebar didn’t change its color since it was already dark. Only the profile section and the central panel change from light to dark.
Changing from the light to the dark theme could be an aesthetics thing. Some people might not like to see a balance between the light and the dark on their Twitch interface. As a fact, it is an annoying thing to see. So if you are part of this selected group of people, you will appreciate this feature.
If you ever feel like turning the dark mode off, you follow the same procedure, and that is all. But believe me, once you turn to the dark side of Twitch, there is no going back. You will love the way it used to look and enable it again. Besides, your eyes will thank you in the long run.
