Microsoft Teams is one of the best business messaging apps that can help you stay connected with your workmates or team. Aside from messaging with other people, you can also invite them to virtual meetings on the platform.
While you can always start a meeting immediately, you have the option to schedule one ahead of time. In this way, you can arrange a video conference on a date and time when everyone is available.
Whether you’re using the free version of Microsoft Teams or the paid one, both of them have the feature to schedule meetings. However, the methods to do so vary depending on your version. Some features and app integration isn’t available on the Teams for free as well.
Whichever version you’re using, we’re here to help you. Check our guide below to learn how to schedule meetings on Microsoft Teams.
How to set up a future meeting in Microsoft Teams

With that in mind, scheduling a meeting on the Microsft Teams free is quite different than the methods on the paid version. If you’re someone that uses the former, there’s only one way for you to arrange your meetings.

Schedule Meetings on the paid version of Teams
If you’re using the paid version of Teams, there are a couple of ways to arrange a meeting. Depending on your preference, you can schedule from a chat tab or on your calendar.
If you have workmates that have tight schedules, the best option to schedule a meeting is through the Calendar tab. To do so, click on any empty space on your calendar or click the “New Meeting” to open a new meeting form.
With the help of the Scheduling Assistant, find a date and time where everyone invited can attend your meeting. Once you finish modifying all the other event details, click “Save.”
Alternatively, you can schedule a meeting with one or more people on a group or individual chat. You can find the “Schedule a meeting” button below the text field where you write your messages.
To sum it all up
To wrap things up, scheduling a meeting on Microsoft Teams varies depending on the version that you’re using. For free users, there’s only one way to arrange a virtual meeting. On the other hand, the paid version allows you to schedule through your chats and the calendar tab.
Aside from that, since the paid version offers more functions and app integration, you might want to consider getting an account upgrade. Especially if you’re on a team that relies on other Microsoft apps, the extra features can be quite handy sometimes.
But if you have no use for the extra administrative options and bonus features, there’s no need for you to upgrade your account. The free version provides as much functionality when compared to the paid version. In the end, it’s all up to your preference.
