Did you miss a highlight while watching a stream on Twitch? Do you want to turn back the stream for a few minutes to watch what you missed? If so, you can use the rewind button while watching a live stream. In our guide below, we’ll show you how to rewind from the Twitch web app.
Tutorial
While you’re watching a live stream on Twitch, there are times when you miss witnessing a highlight or funny content from the streamer. Although you can watch clips created by other users or check the VOD after the live session, that may take you some time.
Thankfully, Twitch has a rewind feature that turns you back two minutes into the stream. You can also adjust the slider on the main video feed to watch other stuff you missed while you’re not watching.
Here’s our guide about using the rewind feature on Twitch.
How to rewind a stream on Twitch
If you missed a highlight of a stream that you’re currently watching, you can use the rewind feature to jump back in a few minutes. In this way, you can watch what you missed on another screen while keeping up on the live stream.
You can use the rewind button on the Twitch web app. Follow our quick tutorial below to learn how.
- Open your preferred web browser, visit the Twitch web client and sign in to your account.
- Head to one of the live channels that you want to watch.
- Click the “Rewind the Stream” option on the bottom right side of the video feed.
- Rewinding the stream jumps you back 2 minutes, and you can watch the video feed on a separate feed above the chat section.
If you ever want to end the rewind, you can hover your mouse pointer on the rewind window and select the “Go back to Live” option. Alternatively, you can click the Dismiss Rewind button below the video feed.
By default, rewinding turns back the stream for 2 minutes. However, you can adjust the slider on the main video feed to turn it back even more.
Unfortunately, there’s no rewind button on the Twitch mobile app. However, you can try clipping the stream to capture the highlights you just witnessed.
To wrap it all up
Now that you know how to rewind on Twitch, you can go ahead and watch the highlights you missed on a live stream. If you turned up late to the channel, you can turn the stream back for more than two minutes if you want.
If you missed watching an entire stream, you can check out the VODs and past broadcasts on the channel. You can also watch clips and highlights created by other viewers of the stream.
