How To Reset Your Gmail Password
Last Updated: September 1, 2021
Whenever we forget our account passwords or simply just want to replace them with a stronger one to avoid our accounts from being hacked, resetting them is the natural thing to do. This doesn’t only apply to all the online accounts you have, but this could also be very helpful in keeping your bank accounts, saving accounts, and email accounts secure.
This is the reason why you can find this feature on almost every software or platform there is, including Gmail. Our Gmail account is usually linked with other accounts, and that’s why it contains almost everything about your personal information, background, business-related activities, and whatnots.
Thus, to ensure that your account is protected, make sure that you know how to reset your password. Learn about it as we discuss its detailed process.
1. Sign in to your Google account and click “Manage All Accounts”.
Simply type myaccount.google.com on your browser.
However, if you’re already signed in in your Google browser, just click “Manage your Google account” in your profile at the top-right part of your screen and it will direct you to a similar link.
2. Click “Security” at the menu bar on the side.
Entering the link will only direct you to its home page. And so, check the menu bar on the left side of your and click Security.
3. Scroll down until you see the option “Signing in to Google” and click Password.
You’ll see that this option is where you manage your passwords, phone sign-in, and 2-step verification. Since the password is the one you want to edit, that is what you need to click.
4. Verify your identity by entering your current password.
Before you can proceed to reset your password, it will ask you first to verify that it is really you who wish to change it.
5. Change your password.
After signing in, you can now change your current password with a strong one. However, take note that you won’t be able to complete the process if you ever forget your current password.
This method is only useful when you can remember your current password. Otherwise, you won’t be able to and there would be a different guide you have to follow for that. Nevertheless, always keep in mind that changing passwords once in a while can be effective especially when you want to keep your accounts secure.
If you don’t want your information to be leaked or stolen, make sure that you know how to reset your password at all times. Hope this guide helps!
