Did you accidentally add someone to your WhatsApp community? Or is someone causing a disturbance within the groups in your community? In any case, you can remove people from your WhatsApp community whenever you want. Follow our step-by-step guide below, and we’ll show you how to do so.

Tutorial

WhatsApp users can easily join your community once they have your invitation link. Once someone joins your community, they can immediately participate in the different groups under it.

Although there are perks to having a large community on WhatsApp, it’s more susceptible to people with bad intentions. To keep the peace and order within your community, you can manage its members and remove unwanted ones.

Here’s our guide about kicking out community members on WhatsApp.

How to manage your community members on WhatsApp

If someone is disturbing your community on WhatsApp, you can kick them out whenever you want. As an admin or the creator of the community, you have permission to manage its members.

You can remove community members whether you’re using WhatsApp on your phone or desktop. In our tutorials below, we’ll cover the steps to do it from both devices.

On your phone:

  1. Open WhatsApp from your home screen or app drawer and sign in to your account.
  2. Select the Communities icon beside the Chats tab.
  3. Open the community that you want to manage on the app.

  4. Tap More options (three dots icon) on the top right corner and select “View members” from the menu.

  5. Select one of the members, tap the Remove option from the menu, and confirm your decision.

That’s how you remove users from your community on the WhatsApp mobile app. Removed users won’t be able to view your community’s information, members, admins, and groups in the future.

On your computer:

  1. Launch the WhatsApp desktop app or visit their web client and sign in to your account.
  2. Select the Communities icon on the chats list header.

  3. Open one of the communities that you want to manage.

  4. Select the View members option from the sidebar.

  5. Click on one of the members and select the “Remove from community” option from the menu.

  6. Confirm your decision by clicking the “Remove” button on the pop-up window.

Once you remove someone from your community, they won’t be able to use the link you previously sent them to rejoin. So if you ever change your mind about kicking someone from the community, you’ll need to send them a new invitation link.
