Do you want to make your calls and meetings more fun and enjoyable on Skype? With the help of reactions, you can use emojis on your calls to display animated effects on your video feed or avatar. In our quick guide below, we’ll show you how to use the reaction feature on your Skype web, desktop, and mobile app.
Skype is one of the best platforms where you can talk or meet with your friends, workmates, and other people online. Aside from messaging through chat, you can also host a meeting room or call with audio and video features.
During your calls on Skype, you can use animated reactions to convey what you feel to everyone in the room without using the microphone. These emojis can make your meetings a little bit more fun, and it helps to break the tension between the participants.
With that in mind, here’s our quick guide about using these animated reactions on Skype.
How to use reactions on your Skype meetings and calls
Aside from reacting to messages you receive in your group or private chats on Skype, you can also use animated reactions during your calls and meetings on the app. In this way, you can convey what you feel to the other participants without using the microphone.
You can use animated reactions on Skype whether you’re using the web, desktop, or mobile app. Follow our quick tutorials below to learn how to do it on all three versions.
On your computer:
- Open the Skype desktop app or web browser client and sign in to your account.
- Start a call or join an existing one.
- Once you’re inside the room, hover on the React option on the bottom right part of the screen and select the emoji you want to use.
After selecting an emoji, everyone on the meeting or call will see an animated reaction appear on your video feed or avatar.
Unlike using reactions on chat messages, you can only choose from six emojis at a time during calls. However, you can customize the selection by clicking on the Edit icon after hovering on the React option.
On your mobile device:
For those using Skype on their phone, the only emoji you can use currently on the app is the “Like” button. We hope that they update and include all emoji reactions in your meetings and calls on the mobile app in the future.
- Open the Skype mobile app and sign in to your account.
- Start a new meeting or join an existing one.
- Once you’re inside the room, tap the Like button at the bottom left part of your screen.
Like using reactions on the Skype desktop and web app, tapping the like button on the mobile app gives out an animated emoji that’s visible on your video feed or avatar.
