How To Post A Story On Signal

Do you want to share a photo or experience with your friends on Signal? Or do you want to update people on what you’re up to in life? In any case, you can now post stories on your account that lasts for a day. Check our quick guide below, and we’ll cover this new feature on Signal.

Tutorial

In one of Signal’s updates, the app introduced “stories” on the Android and iOS versions. This feature allows you to post updates outside of groups and individual chats.

The stories feature on Signal works like Instagram and Facebook stories. Each story you post will last for 24 hours or until you delete them.

When posting a story on the app, you get to choose who can view them. You have the option to post for everyone, to a group, or to some contacts. Here’s our guide about stories on Signal.

How to add a story on Signal

If you want to update your friends on Signal about your life, you can add a story to your account. With this feature, you can post pictures, videos, and text updates on your account, which people can view.

For now, posting stories is only available on the Signal mobile app. In our tutorial below, we’ll teach you how to use the feature on your account.

On your phone:

  1. Launch the Signal app from your home screen or app drawer and sign in to your account.
  2. Tap “Stories” at the bottom right of the app.

  3. Tap the add story option.

  4. Use your camera or the text option to create your story, and tap the Next icon on the bottom right.

  5. Choose who can view your story and tap the Send icon on the bottom right.

That’s how you post a store on Signal. These stories last for a day when posted on your profile.

Alternatively, you can post a story to a group or to selected contacts only. Tap the New button before posting a story to see these viewer options.

Unfortunately, the feature is not available on the Signal desktop app at the moment. Hopefully, we’ll get to use this feature from the desktop app soon.

To wrap it all up

Now that you know how to use stories on Signal, you can share your experiences, photos, and thoughts on the app without sending a message to your individual or group chats. Always remember that you can turn off this feature whenever you want.
