How To Play Estes In Mobile Legends
Last Updated: March 10, 2022
Estes is making a comeback in the recent meta as one of the best support heroes in the game. With his patented blend of healing and wide crowd control coverage, it’s safe to say that this hero is a highly contested pick. Here’s everything you need to know to get you started playing the Moon Elf King.
Gaming
Overview
Estes is a support hero with an insane amount of healing in his kit. This allows him to keep his team alive in a clash. While he is primarily known for his healing, his crowd control is nothing to scoff at as well. In a team setting, Estes’ only responsibility is to keep his team’s carries alive while dealing a bit of poke damage to the opposing team. He is a backline support that plays off of how good his teammates are. With the right amount of items, Estes can make his entire team virtually unkillable.
His playstyle is very easy to understand but somewhat hard to master as he relies on positioning to keep himself alive. Estes’ biggest weakness is the fact that he can’t win games on his own. He doesn’t have a lot of damage dealing skills so he is more of a complimentary source of damage. He also lacks any sort of mobility so teams usually target him first in the event of a clash. Overall, if you’re looking for a strong support to main, you can’t go wrong with using Estes. He is a beginner level hero that doesn’t have any complicated mechanics in his kit. All you need is a strong understanding of the game’s fundamentals and be a cooperative teammate.
Abilities
Estes’ kit revolves around supporting his teammates through heals, a bit of damage, and crowd control.
Passive – Scripture of the Moon Elf

Code of Moon Elves will charge energy into Estes slowly – When it stacks up to 100, it will improve his next Basic Attack, dealing 250 (+100% Total Physical Attack) (+150% Total Magic Power) points of Magic Damage to the target.
The damage will then ricochet, dealing 125 (+50% Total Physical Attack) (+75% Total Magic Power) points of Magic Damage to nearby enemies and slowing them by 60% for 1.5 seconds.
Scripture of the Moon Elf is a pretty straightforward passive. Every few seconds, Estes’ next basic attack will be enhanced and will deal more damage while also slowing the target and those around it. Use this to effectively trade with the opponent and poke their carries. Estes has a fairly long range for his basic attack so you should have no trouble getting this ability off when it’s up.
First Skill – Moonlight Immersion

Estes grants 200 / 230 / 260 / 290 / 320 / 350 (+70% Total Magic Power) Heal to himself or an ally immediately and Estes will slowly grant the ally or himself 325 / 350 / 375 / 400 / 425 / 450 (+30% Total Magic Power) Heal for 3 seconds.
Using both parts of this skill can grant 525 / 580 / 635 / 690 / 745 / 800 (+100% Total Magic Power) Heal on a single ally.
Linking with an ally will also increase his Physical Attack by (+40% Linked Ally’s Physical Attack) and increase the charging speed of Scripture of the Moon Elf. Being too far from the target will break the link and stop all healing and Physical Attack bonuses.
Moonlight Immersion is Estes’ primary source of healing. Use this to immediately heal one of your teammates while giving them a Physical Attack boost while you are both linked. Be careful as you’ll need to stick with your teammate while this skill is active for it to work.
Second Skill – Domain of Moon Goddess

Estes drops a flood of moonlight upon the designated area, dealing 350 / 400 / 450 / 500 / 550 / 600 (+70% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to enemies in the area.
Afterwards, it turns to a domain of Moon Goddess for 1.5 seconds, slowing enemies that touch the border of the domain area by 90%.
Domain of Moon Goddess is Estes’ only crowd control ability. While it won’t lock enemies in place, it will heavily disrupt their mobility. It has a very wide area of effect and deals pretty decent damage. Use this during fights to deal a lot of damage while also reducing the enemies movement speed.
Ultimate – Blessing of Moon Goddess

Estes will grants nearby allies 400 / 460 / 520 / 580 / 640 / 700 (+140% Total Magic Power) Heal immediately and 1170 / 1260 / 1350 / 1440 / 1530 / 1620 (+105% Total Magic Power) Heal over the course of 8 seconds.
Meanwhile, Estes will grant himself 400 / 460 / 520 / 580 / 640 / 700 (+140% Magic Power) Heal immediately and grant himself 1260 / 1440 / 1620 (+105% Total Magic Power) Heal over the course of 8 seconds.
Linking with 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 allies using this skill increases Estes’ Physical Attack by 60% / 35% / 30% / 30% of Each Linked Ally’s Physical Attack.
For 8 seconds, Estes will enhance Moonlight Immersion.
Blessing of Moon Goddess is one of the most overpowered abilities in the game. It essentially works the same as Moonlight Immersion only this time, you will be linked with your entire team. The healing you and your teammates will receive from this ability is absolutely massive and is a big factor why Estes is such a good pick in the current meta.
Builds

When it comes to items, your focus should be to increase Estes’ durability. You may be thinking that you should buy Magic Power items instead since these directly increase the healing you’ll be able to give to yourself and your teammates. While that is true, buying mostly Magic Power items makes Estes very squishy. And once Estes is taken out during a fight, your team would be one player short and your impact will be drastically reduced. Which is why you should focus on only buying one Magic Power item and using your other item slots to purchase durability items. That said, there are three items that you should always try to include in your build path. These core items are Enchanted Talisman, Dominance Ice, and Oracle.
- Enchanted Talisman
+250 HP
+50 Magic Power
+20% CD Reduction
Unique Passive – Mana Spring: Regenerates 15% of Max Mana every 10s in total.
Unique Passive – Magic Mastery: Max CD Reduction increased by 5%.
- Dominance Ice
+70 Physical Defense
+500 Mana
+5% Movement SPD
Unique Passive: +10% CD Reduction
Unique Passive – Arctic Cold: Reduces the Shield and HP Regen of nearby enemy heroes by 50% (excluding those affected by “Life Drain”), and their Attack Speed by 30%.
- Oracle
+850 HP
+42 Magic Defense
+10% CD Reduction
Unique Passive – Bless: Raise shield absorption and HP regen effect by 30%.
Having these three items gives Estes a healthy mix of durability, Magic Power, and mana. Enchanted Talisman solves his mana issues while also giving him Magic Power, Dominance Ice gives him more mana to use plus Physical Defense, and Oracle increases his HP, Magic Defense, and HP regen effects.
Useful Tips
- For your emblems, always run with the Support set and take Focusing Mark as your talent. This will increase your team’s damage on heroes that you’ve recently damaged.
- For your battle spell, always take Flicker or Purify. Since Estes doesn’t have any mobility, Flicker gives him a spell that will allow him to escape potentially lethal situations or to close the gap between him and a teammate that needs healing. Purify, on the other hand, will remove all debuffs and crowd control on Estes while also giving him a movement speed boost.
- Estes is a hero that can be easily countered by mobile assassins that can deal a lot of damage in a short amount of time. Heroes like Fanny, Hayabusa, Karina, Gusion, and Saber are all strong counters against him since they can easily get close, deal burst damage, and walk away scot free.
