How To Play Dyrroth In Mobile Legends

Dyrroth is one of the purest embodiments of the fighter class of heroes. His playstyle rewards players for committing and going all in during fights. Here’s everything you need to know to get you started playing the Prince of the Abyss.

Gaming

Overview

When Dyrroth was first released, he was a highly contested pick. His mix of sustained damage, burst, and mobility was unheard of at the time. He can easily roll with the best fighters the game can throw at him while also having enough carry potential to force games to victory. He has cooled off since then and is now a fairly balanced champion. Dyrroth is at his best when the fights are long. Oftentimes, he can win most 1v1 situations if you know how to play him. His abilities have decent range and a pretty good area of effect. His kit also lets him be very mobile and allows him to stick to high priority targets.

While he is a strong hero, Dyrroth can be susceptible to heroes with hard crowd control and higher burst damage than him. He is pretty durable in most cases but some heroes can easily deplete his health with enough items. It also doesn’t help that there are a lot of heroes in the meta that can counter his playstyle. Overall, if you want a good Fighter to use in the Exp Lane or in the Jungle, Dyrroth is a very good choice. Once you learn to play around his limitations and develop a better game sense for this hero, there’ll be no stopping you as Dyrroth.

Abilities

Dyrroth’s kit is all about dealing damage. He has good wave clear, decent range, excellent mobility, and extreme burst damage.

Passive – Wrath of the Abyss

Dyrroth’s skills and Basic Attack grant him Rage.

When Dyrroth’s Rage reaches 50%, he will enhance Burst Strike and Spectre Step.

After each 2 Basic Attack, Dyrroth will release Circle Strike, dealing (+140% Total Physical Attack) points of Physical Damage to enemies in the circle and regenerating HP according to the damage he deals. Each time he hits a target, the cooldown of Burst Strike and Spectre Step will be decreased by 1 second.

This passive is what makes Dyrroth strong in extended fights. It gives him a bit of sustain too thanks to the heal he gets with Circle Strike. It also enhances his other abilities so he gets stronger as the fight goes on.

First Skill – Burst Strike

Dyrroth releases 3 Burst Strikes in a designated direction, dealing 200 / 250 / 300 / 350 / 400 / 450 (+60% Extra Physical Attack) points of Physical Damage to enemies along the way and slowing them by 25% for 1.5 seconds.

Abyss Enhanced: Dyrroth releases 4 Burst Strikes with a longer range, dealing 140% of the original damage or 280 / 350 / 420 / 490 / 560 / 630 (+84% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage, and slowing the enemies hit by 50% for 1.5 seconds.

This skill’s damage decays to 30% against the same target; But however, if he is also hitting minions, he will only deal 75% of the damage.

This is Dyrroth’s primary damaging ability. It has good wave clear, decent range, and great burst damage. You’ll be using this ability a lot to poke down enemies who try to hind behind minions.

Second Skill – Spectre Step

Dyrroth dashes in the designated direction. He will stop, knockback and stun the target for a short period, when he hits an enemy hero or jungle creep, dealing 230 / 255 / 280 / 305 / 330 / 355 (+60% Extra Physical Attack) points of Physical Damage to them.

Use Again: Dyrroth will lock onto a target and releases Fatal Strike, that deals damage 3 times, dealing in total 345 / 390 / 435 / 480 / 525 / 570 (+120% Extra Physical Attack) points of Physical Damage and reducing the target’s Physical Defense by 50% for 4 seconds.

Abyss Enhanced: Both stages of this skill will deal 150% of the original damage,

Enhanced Fatal strike will deal 517.5 / 585 / 652.5 / 720 / 787.5 / 855 (+180% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage, slow the target by 90% and reduce the target’s Physical Defense by 75% for 4 seconds.

This is Dyrroth’s main form of mobility. It has good range for a dash and has a bit of crowd control which helps him stick to his targets better. The second part of the ability is a good source of damage when trading against an enemy.

Ultimate – Abysm Strike

Dyrroth quickly charges and releases a Fatal Strike, dealing (Physical Damage) equal to 650( +250% Extra Physical ATK) plus 20% of enemies’ lost HP to enemies along the way and slowing them by 55% for 0.8s.

Dyrroth’s ultimate is a very good source of damage. It deals damage in a straight line but it has a pretty wide area of effect. It does take a bit of time to fully cast this skill so you need to find the perfect time to use it. It can be great to deal damage in the middle of a fight or you can save it to execute low health enemies.

Builds

Dyrroth isn’t the most mechanically complex hero to play. So, your focus when it comes to items should be to just build damage. Items that are perfect for extended fights that give him sustain and a bit of durability are perfect for him. With that said, there are 3 items that we consider essential on a hero like Dyrroth. These core items are War Axe, Bloodlust Axe, and Brute Force Breastplate

  • War Axe

+35 Physical ATK
+550 HP
+10% CD Reduction

Unique Passive – Fighting Spirit: Dealing damage to enemies grants 9 Physical Attack and 3 Physical Penetration per second for 3s, to a max of 8 stacks (Marksmen/Mages/Supports only receive 33% of these stacked effects); also grants 15% Movement Speed at full stacks.

  • Bloodlust Axe

+70 Physical ATK

+10% CD Reduction

+20% Spell Vamp

  • Brute Force Breastplate

+770 HP

+45 Physical Defense

Uniquie Passive – Brute Force: Casting a skill or using Basic Attacks will increase Movement Speed by 2%, Physical & Magic Defense by 4. Lasts 4s. Stacks up to 5 times.

Out of all these items, War Axe is the most essential. There are different ways to build Dyrroth but you should try to include War Axe in most of your builds. Bloodlust Axe and Brute Force Breastplate are also important items that you should consider adding in every build you run with. Having all these three items together, maximizes Dyrroth’s potential and increases his ability to win nearly every fight.

Useful Tips

  1. For emblems, you can go with either the Assassin set or the Fighter set. If you’re playing in the Jungle, you’d be better off with the Assassin set and take Killing Spree as your talent. This will allow you to be more efficient when it comes to securing kills whenever you gank. If you’re playing in a side lane, however, you should take the Fighter set and Festival of Blood as your talent. With Festival of Blood, your sustain increases by a lot. This will help since you’ll be mostly against fighters who will try to 1v1 you any chance they get.
  2. For your battle spell, take Retribution when in the jungle and Sprint when in a side lane. Retribution allows you to clear jungle camps faster and lets you secure objectives like Lord or Turtle. Sprint is a good mobility spell that increases your movement speed so that you can chase your targets or escape potentially lethal ganks.
  3. As we’ve mentioned before, Dyrroth can be easily countered by heroes with a lot of burst damage or a lot of crowd control. Knowing who counters him can help you figure out your plan of attack. Heroes like Leomord, Kagura, Hanzo, and Johnson can severely counter Dyrroth and limit his effectiveness.
