How To Play Diggie In Mobile Legends
Last Updated: February 28, 2022
Diggie is one of the best supports that you can play in Mobile Legends. The sheer utility that this hero provides easily makes him a high priority pick that can fit most meta team compositions. Here’s everything you need to know to get you started playing the Timekeeper.
Gaming
Overview
Diggie is quite the unconventional hero. After all, it is the only hero that can remain somewhat active whenever they’ve been slain. This led to a lot of players using a strategy called “Feeding Diggie” wherein the player using Diggie would intentionally feed the enemies and be essentially a walking ward. When Diggie is in his egg form, he is invincible and can cast skills that interrupt recalls. This controversial strategy became popular in the professional scene as a lot of teams tend to use this strategy to win games.
Apart from this, Diggie brings in a ton of utility for his team. He has excellent crowd control on two of his skills and his ultimate gives him and his team a free Purify. Since the current meta of the game favors high mobility heroes, Diggie is a great counter to them since he can lock them in place thanks to his crowd control. If you’re looking for an easy to use support that can do a lot for their team without having to worry too much about their KDA, Diggie just might be the perfect hero for you.
Abilities
Diggie’s entire kit is designed to be a support. He has a ton of utility, crowd control, and supportive abilities that helps his team get the upper hand.
Passive – Young Again

Upon death, Diggie will enter Egg Form and gain new skills while in Egg Form.
Diggie is untargettable in Egg Form and after Diggie’s resurrection timer ends, Diggie will respawn at his position, entering Owl Form and ending his untargettability.
Diggie can use Battle Emotes and also provides vision normally while in Egg Form
Under the wrong hands, this ability may seem useless. But when you try to think out of the box and be a little creative, you’ll find that this is one of the most underrated abilities in the game. While Diggie won’t have access to his abilities, he is free to move, give vision, and interrupt the channeling abilities of the enemies.
First Skill – Auto Alarm Bomb

Diggie throws an owl alarm at a designated area and the alarm will remain in a designated location for 30 seconds if there’s no enemy units nearby.
The alarm will automatically chase any nearby enemy units before exploding and dealing 500 / 560 / 620 / 680 / 740 / 800 (+120% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and slowing them by 30%. If the target gets too far, the alarm bomb will explode prematurely.
This skill can be stored up to 3 times. Restore time is affected by cooldown reduction.
This is a pretty straightforward ability. Diggie throws a bomb that explodes, dealing damage and slowing all targets affected. It’s a great ability to use when trading but isn’t spammable so be sure to make it count when you use it.
Second Skill – Reverse Time

Diggie locks onto an enemy hero and after a delay or if the enemy gets too far away, Diggie pulls them back to the set location, dealing 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 / 350 / 400 (+100% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and slowing them by 80%.
This is Diggie’s lockdown crowd control. It lets him hold an enemy hero in place whenever he uses it. It’s perfect for mobile heroes like assassins or certain marksmen. You can use it on high priority targets like the enemy team’s carry to ensure a kill.
Ultimate – Time Journey

Diggie provides a shield that absorbs 400 / 550 / 700 (+200% Total Magic Power) damage to him and surrounding allies, removing and becoming immune to Control effects. Last 3s. While casting this skill his Movement Speed increases by 50% for 0.5s.
Diggie’s ultimate is essentially a free Purify. It removes and makes everyone inside its area of effect immune to crowd control for its entire duration. This is pretty useful for teamfights when enemy heroes will target your team’s carries with their crowd control. This ability can be used both aggressively and defensively.
Builds

When it comes to items, the best ones to purchase for Diggie are mostly tank items that make him more durable. This is because Diggie won’t be dealing too much damage and will mostly use his abilities for their utility. So, being more durable lets Diggie last longer and allows him to use his abilities more. Out of all the potential build paths, there are two items that we consider must haves on a hero like Diggie. These core items are Immortality and Antique Cuirass.
- Immortality
+800 HP
+40 Physical Defense
Unique Passive – Immortal: Resurrect 2.5s upon death and gets 16% Max HP and 220-1200 shield that lasts for 3s. (Scales with level) This effect has a CD of 210s.
- Antique Cuirass
+920 HP
+2 HP Regen
+52 Physical Defense
Unique Passive – Deter: When attacked by an enemy hero’s skill, reduces their Physical ATK by 8% for 2s (up to 3 stacks).
These two items increase Diggie’s efficiency as a support and lets him make a massive impact for his team to win the game.
Useful Tips
- For Emblems, take the Support set and Pull Yourself Together as your talent. This talent reduces your respawn time and battle spell cooldown by 15%.
- For battle spells, take either Flameshot or Flicker. Flameshot will allow you to poke enemies from afar or push them away if they get too close plus it deals a bit of damage. Flicker, on the other hand, is the all purpose battle spell that gives you an additional layer of mobility in your kit.
- Diggie is a pretty well-rounded hero that impacts the game at a high level without having to do too much. As such, there aren’t many heroes that we consider true counters to Diggie. However, there are heroes that tend to do better against Diggie at all stages in the game based on their win rate. These heroes are Chou, Aurora, Franco, and Saber. Try to be wary of these heroes when you spot them on the enemy team and be cautious on how you approach them.
