How To Play Clint In Mobile Legends
Last Updated: January 23, 2022
Clint is currently sitting atop the meta tier list and holds the title of being the best overall Marksman in the game. Here’s everything you need to know to get you started playing the West Justice.
Gaming
Overview
Clint recently went under a revamp that drastically changed his playstyle and updated it for the modern meta. It proved to be a success as Clint is the game’s strongest marksman. His blend of burst damage and DPS makes him a very good pick and places him in a prime position to carry his team. Being a Marksman, Clint is better off playing in the Gold Lane. This allows him to farm up quickly so he can acquire his items. He has excellent wave clear, strong burst, very good range, and has hard crowd control. Despite all of these, Clint is not without weakness. Marksmen are generally squishy and Clint is no exception. He is also very item reliant and isn’t all that strong until he gets his core items. Needless to say, even with these drawbacks, Clint remains a very good Hero and is worth investing your time in.
Abilities
Clint’s whole kit revolves around dealing a lot of damage in a very short amount of time. He also has pretty good crowd control and excellent poke.
Passive – Double Shot

After each skill cast, Clint’s next Basic Attack within 4s will penetrate a line of enemies, dealing 100( +120% Total Physical ATK) (Physical Damage) (can trigger attack effects, and the Physical Attack bonus part can critically strike).
This is the primary source of Clint’s burst damage. It is also what increases his range and allows him to poke enemies from afar.
First Skill – Quick Draw

Clint shoots 5 bullets in quick succession, each bullet dealing 250( +85% Total Physical ATK) (Physical Damage). The bullets will spread evenly across enemies in a fan-shaped area. Enemies hit by multiple bullets take reduced damage starting from the second bullet.
This is Clint’s primary offensive ability and is best used to clear minions. It can also deal massive damage during a team fight.
Second Skill – Trapping Recoil

Clint shoots a trap net forwards, dealing 140( +30% Total Physical ATK)( +150% Total Magic Power) (Physical Damage) to the first enemy hit and immobilizing it for 1.2s. He will also jump back a little at the same time. Upon hitting an enemy, this skill’s cooldown will be reduced by 40%.
This is a very great skill to have on Clint especially since he is a squishy hero. This gives him hard Crowd Control that he can use to peel for himself and stop enemy heroes who try to dive him. It opens up a lot of outplay opportunities and lets Clint be a self-sustaining core that doesn’t rely much on his team in a solo lane.
Ultimate – Grenade Bombardment

Clint launches a grenade in a designated direction. The grenade explodes when hitting the enemy, dealing 280( +100% Total Physical ATK) (Physical Damage) and slowing the enemy by 25% for 1.2s. 1 grenade can be restored every 12s, up to 5.
Clint’s ultimate is also a great tool to poke. It deals massive burst damage and has a small AoE. This ability is perfect for finishing off low health targets and slowly whittling down your opponent’s health.
Builds

There are plenty of builds you can go with Clint. Since he’ll mostly be playing in the Gold Lane, his primary focus should always be to build as much damage as possible. Clint isn’t exactly an Attack Speed based champion so attack speed items should be the least of your priorities. A bit of survivability would be great as well. Looking at the popular and recommended builds on Clint, there are three items that stand out and appear nearly on all builds. These are Endless Battle, Blade of Despair, and Thunder Belt.
- Endless Battle
+65 Physical ATK
+5 Mana Regen
+250 HP
+10% CD Reduction
+5% Movement SPD
+10% Physical Lifesteal
Unique Passive – Divine Justice: In 3s after using the skill, the caster’s next Basic Attack will deal additional True Damage as much as 60% of Physical Attack with a cooldown of 1.5s.
Unique Passive – Chase Fate: When Divine Justice’s effect is triggered, it will increase the hero’s movement speed 10%.
- Blade of Despair
+160 Physical ATK
+5% Movement SPD
Unique Passive – Despair: Attacking enemy units that have HP below 50% will increase the hero’s Physical Attack by 25%. Lasts 2s. (Takes affect before damage is dealt)
- Thunder Belt
+800 HP
+40 Physical Defense
+30 Mana Regen
+10% CD Reduction
Unique Passive – Thunderbolt: In 3s after using the skill, the caster’s next Basic Attack will deal True Damage as much as 50 plus 5% of the caster’s Extra Max HP to the enemy target and surrounding units and slow them by 40-80% (increases with the caster’s Extra Max HP) for 1s. This effect has a 1.5s cooldown.
All of these core items are needed to make the most out of Clint’s capabilities. They all increase his damage heavily and in the case of Thunder Belt and Endless Battle, increase his survivability and solves his mana problems.
Useful Tips
- For emblems, go with the Assassin set and take Killing Spree as your talent. This allows your kills to grant 15% HP and raise Movement Speed by 20% for 5 seconds.
- The best Battle Spells on Clint are either Flicker or Purify. Flicker gives you additional mobility; it is essentially a blink spell that allows you to reposition yourself and is useful in all situations. Purify, on the other hand, removes all negative debuffs on you and is pretty useful against team comps with a lot of crowd control.
- Clint is weak against most assassin champions but Saber and Helcurt are common counters that can severely put him behind. Eudora is also another champion that can throw a wrench in Clint’s way and could easily counter him.
