How to pin conversations on WhatsApp

If you want to keep tabs on some of your conversations on WhatsApp, you can pin them on the top of the chats list. In this way, you can access the pinned conversations without finding them among your other chats.

You can pin conversations whether you’re using WhatsApp on your phone or computer. Check our step-by-step tutorials below and we’ll show you how to do it on both.

On the WhatsApp app for Android:

1. On the chats list, tap and hold onto one of the conversations that you want to pin.
   
   
2. Once the options appear on the top of your screen, select the Pin icon.
   
   

That’s how you pin a conversation on the WhatsApp mobile app. Pinned chats appear on the top of your chats list even if you open your account the desktop app.

If you want to unpin, tap and hold onto one of the pinned chats. Once the options appear on the top of your screen, select the unpin icon.

On the WhatsApp desktop app:

1. After connecting your account to the app, hover your mouse pointer to one of your conversations and select the drop-down arrow that appears on the right. Alternatively, you can right-click on the conversation.
2. On the menu that appears, select “Pin chat.”
   
   

Pinning messages on the desktop app also reflects on the mobile one. To unpin, right-click on a pinned conversation and select “Unpin chat” from the menu.

You can pin up to three conversations on WhatsApp at the same time. These conversations appear on the top of your chats list until you unpin them manually.
