How to move a base from one workspace to another on Airtable

If you want to migrate your projects and collections from one workspace to another, your bases are on Airtable. In this way, there’s no need to copy or import your projects between different workspaces.

You can move your bases whether you’re using the Airtable app on your phone or computer’s web browser. Follow our quick guide below to learn how.

On your computer:

  1. Visit the Airtable web app and sign in to your account.
  2. Browse the workspaces that you currently have and hover on the base you want to move.
  3. Drag the handle of the base (six dots icon beside the base) and drop it to the workspace where you want to move it.

  4. Click “Move base” on the pop-up window to confirm your decision.

Please note that collaborators from the old workspace who isn’t a member of the new workspace won’t have access to the base after moving it. However, Anyone that’s a member of both workspaces retains their access.

Also, moving bases to a workspace with restrictions might cause some problems, so make sure to check your permission settings.

On your phone:

  1. Open the Airtable mobile app from your home screen or app drawer and sign in to your account.
  2. Drag one of your bases and drop it on the workspace where you want it to move.
