How To Mark All Channels As Read On A Server On Discord

Are you having some trouble checking new notifications from your servers on Discord due to the number of messages you missed checking a while back? Do you want to clear these numbers beside the server’s avatar on the app? With the help of the “Mark As Read” feature, you can clear all the missed notifications on one of your servers and reset it back to the start.

Tutorial

Depending on your Discord settings, you’ll receive various notifications from your servers on the app. By default, you’ll receive an alert when someone mentions you on their message in a channel or conversation from the server.

If you missed checking the notifications from a server, a number appears beside the server’s avatar on the menu. All missed notifications piles up until you clear or check them one by one.

With that in mind, here’s our guide about finding the “Mark As Read” feature on Discord to clear all notifications from a server.

How to mark all messages as read on a Discord server

If you want to remove all the notifications beside a server’s icon on your app, you can use the “Mark As Read” feature on your server. In this way, you’ll immediately know when a new message or mention appears from the server.

You can mark a server as read whether you’re using Discord on your phone or desktop. Follow our quick tutorials below, and we’ll show you how to use the feature on the apps on both devices.

On your computer:

  1. Open the Discord app (web or desktop app) and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to the server where you want to clear all the notifications.
  3. Click the server’s name at the top left side of the screen.

  4. On the drop-down menu that appears, click “Mark As Read.”

Alternatively, you can right-click on one of the server icons on the left side of the app and select “Mark As Read” on the menu.

Using the “Mark as read” option clears all notifications you received previously. If you don’t want to receive notifications from a server in the future, you have the option to mute the server.

On the Discord app for Android:

  1. After launching the Discord app on your phone, tap the hamburger icon on the top left corner of your current channel and head to one of your servers.
  2. Tap the server’s name or the three dots icon at the top of the app.

  3. Once the options appear on your screen, swipe it up and tap the “Mark As Read” button.

That’s how you clear all notifications from a server on Discord. If you can’t click or tap the “Mark As Read” option on the server, it means that it doesn’t have any new notifications or alerts for you.

Like we mentioned earlier, you can mute a server and suppress the mentions from its channels to stop receiving alerts in the future.

Clear all your server notifications on Discord

Now that you know where to find the “Mark As Read” feature on your Discord servers, you can clear all your notifications with a few clicks or taps. When you do, taking note of new alerts whenever you open the app is much easier.
