How To Make Chromebook Screen Brighter
Last Updated: October 23, 2019
If you want a lightweight, fast, and very, very portable laptop, you must get a Google Chromebook. These devices are specially designed for productivity tasks such as writing, making presentations, crunching some numbers, and browsing the web. Of course, you can use it for entertainment purposes as well. But do not expect such a great performance with graphics-intensive tasks, though.
Either way, Chromebooks are a bang for the buck when it comes to productivity tasks. Naturally, the price depends on what you need or want. Higher specs translate into a higher price. However, there is a Chromebook suitable for any kind of budget; so, don’t worry about this.
Because laptops running Chrome OS are quite new, at least when you compare them with other operating systems that have been in the marking for a long time, you will find that it is a little bit tricky to get used to the new interface. Nevertheless, Google pledge that their OS is easy to use and user-friendly.
Still, you might need some help with the basic configurations, and this is the reason for this specific guide. Here, you will learn how to adjust the screen brightness on your brand new Chromebook laptop. There are two ways to do this; we will show you both of them.
With the Keyboard
With the Chromebook on, head down to your keyboard and focus your attention on the upper section. Go to the part where the 6,7, and 8 buttons are located. Above them, you should see two buttons with a sun icon on them.
The smaller sun (red rectangle) allows you to lower the screen brightness. In contrast, with the button next to it, the one that has a bigger sun icon (yellow rectangle), you can increase the screen brightness.
With the Taskbar
Turn your Chromebook on and head to the bottom right corner. There, you should be able to see the battery status, Wi-Fi signal, and time; click it.
A menu will unfold, and you will be able to see another set of options. Head to the bottom of the new set of options, where you will see a sun icon.
Hover over with the mouse and drag the little circle to adjust the brightness to your liking. If you wish to decrease it, drag the circle to the left to decrease it, drag the circle. Otherwise, drag it to the right. Close everything once you are satisfied.
That is all the process, as you can see, it is no rocket science. However, because Chrome OS is quite an unfamiliar OS, you could have some trouble trying to control the basic settings. Naturally, the more time you spend with your new Chromebook, the more things you will learn about it. And, like happens with riding a bike, you will never forget it.
Of course, the easiest and fastest way to control the screen brightness is by using the in-built keys on your keyboard. However, depending on the situation, you could need to adjust the screen brightness from the taskbar.
