How To Make A Twich Stream
Last Updated: April 17, 2020
All casual or hardcore gamers have heard about Twitch. In fact, if you are passionate about games, you likely have watched a couple of Twitch streams. Here, you can find any kind of game-related content ranging from video games to game tournaments and events. According to Twitch statistics, there are over 2 million users who are responsible for most of the content that you see on Twitch.
All that is needed to become a streamer is either a console or a PC, a game, and some spare time. Bear in mind that streaming from a console is easier because the console has an in-built streamer app. Sadly, streaming from your PC will be a little more difficult. You will need to download a third-party app to stream your play, and you must have a decent gaming gear.
So let’s begin with this beginner guide on how to become a streamer.
Go to the Xsplit official page (https://www.xsplit.com/), and download the Gamecaster.
While you are installing the app, take some time to open an Xsplit account. Just click on the sign-up button, which is at the top right corner of the screen.
Alternatively, you can wait until the app is installed, and choose the login with Twitch option.
If you already have an Xsplit account, click on the existing Xsplit user option, which is on the right side of the screen (yellow rectangle). If don’t have an Xsplit account, and you have logged in with your Twitch credentials, click on the new user option. It is on the left side of the screen (red rectangle).
Head to the account option on the Xsplit interface. It is the second option from left to right. Click on the Twitch section. Log in with your credentials and authorize the app.
Now, it is time to head to Twitch. Click on your profile picture, which is at the top left corner. Then, choose the dashboard option on the drop-down menu. Once there, set up your channel information as you like.
Launch a game of your liking and hit ctrl+tab to activate Gamecaster override. Click on the stream option and that is all. Now, your game is being streamed as you play!
Bear in mind that for you to be able to stream comfortable, you must have a good PC with a dedicated graphics card. As an advice, you should have at least an i5 CPU, a dedicated GPU, and 16 Gigabytes of RAM. Otherwise, both you and your audience will have a very poor experience.
Also, note that Xsplit has some special features for people who are willing to pay for them. So, if you are using Twitch to earn some money, it is highly recommended to pay for the premium version. But if streaming is not your main source of income, the free version is more than enough for you.
You can choose from other broadcasting software for this job. So expect different procedures with different software. However, they all work in almost the exact same way.
