Are you tired of random people commenting on your posts on Instagram? Do you want to limit the number of people who can comment on your profile on the app? If so, you can set a limit on recent and non-followers on the app to prevent them from commenting on your posts. Check our guide below, and we’ll show you the steps to do so.
Tutorial
By default, anyone on Instagram can comment on the things you post on the app. If your profile is set to public, even non-followers can comment on your posts.
Although more people commenting on your posts can help it gain traction, you can also be susceptible to harassment from people you don’t know. Thankfully, Instagram has a feature that limits comments for a set amount of time.
Here’s our guide about limiting comments on Instagram.
How to limit commenting on your posts on Instagram
If you feel that someone is harassing you on your posts on Instagram, you can limit unwanted comments from groups of people on the app. You can set a timer when setting the limit for new and recent followers of your profile.
You can limit comments on the Instagram mobile app. Follow our tutorial below, and we’ll show you how to do it from an Android phone.
- Open Instagram from your home screen or app drawer and sign in to your account.
- Tap your profile icon on the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Tap the three horizontal lines on the top right corner of the page and select “Settings” on the menu.
- Head to your Privacy Settings.
- Tap “Limits” under the Interactions section and select Continue at the bottom of your screen.
- Choose who to limit, set the duration, and tap “Turn on” at the bottom of the screen.
That’s how you limit comments on your posts on Instagram. Please note that you can only limit the comments from non-followers and the ones who recently followed your account.
If you don’t want someone to comment on your posts or view your profile, you can block their account on the app. On the other hand, you can make your account private to hide stories and posts from non-followers on the app.
Once your account is private, you can choose to remove some of your followers on the app. When you remove a follower, they won’t be able to view your posts and stories unless you accept them back as a follower.
To wrap it all up
Now that you know how to limit comments on Instagram, you can stop recent and non-followers from commenting on your posts for a set amount of time. Always remember that you also have the option to block users on the app to prevent them from viewing your profile, commenting on your posts, and messaging you on the app.
