How To Leave A Teamspace In Notion

Do you want to organize your sidebar and remove yourself from teamspaces that you no longer use in Notion? If that’s the case, you can leave the space. When you leave a teamspace, you can no longer access its contents in the future. Teamspaces in Notion gives team members a space where they can collaborate and gather information easily. Although each workspace has a default teamspace, users can choose to create more of them for different tasks or projects.

However, joining or creating a lot of teamspaces on your workspace can make it difficult for you to focus on active spaces. Thankfully, you have the option to leave or archive teamspaces that you don’t need anymore on your account.

How to leave one of your teamspace in Notion

If you don’t want to be a part of a teamspace anymore, you can leave it whenever you want. As long as there’s at least another owner of the teamspace, you can leave it as an owner (members can leave whenever they want).

You can leave a teamspace from the Notion desktop or web app. Check our tutorials below, and we’ll teach you how to do it from your workspace settings. In this way, you can check all your teamspaces on the app, including archived ones.

On your computer:

1. Open the Notion desktop app, or visit their web client and sign in to your account.
2. Click “Settings” or “Settings & members” from the sidebar.
   
   
3. Head to “Teamspaces” under the Workspace section.
   
   
4. Click More options (three dots icon) on the right side of one of your teamspaces and click “Leave teamspace” from the menu.
5. Click the red “Leave teamspace” button on the pop-up window to confirm your decision.

That’s how you leave a teamspace on Notion. If you ever change your mind, you can ask one of the teamspace owners to add you back to the space.

If you find the space that you want to leave on the sidebar, click More options (three dots icon), and select the leave option from the menu. On the other hand, you can only leave your archived teamspaces from the settings tab.

Please note that you can’t leave default teamspaces on your workspace. Also, you can’t leave a space as the only owner so you’ll need to promote one of the members before doing so.
