Do you want to add your friends to your newly created server on Discord? How about the ones that are not on your friends list on the app? If that’s the case, you can share invitation links that allow users to join your server directly. With that in mind, here’s our guide to help you invite your friends to a server on the Discord desktop, web, and mobile app.
A server in Discord isn’t complete without any members in it. If you’re building a new server on the app, you can easily invite your friends and other people to join it.
There are a couple of ways to invite people to join your Discord server. You can send direct invitations to the ones on your friends list or select the invite option when you right-click on someone’s profile. Lastly, you can copy and share an invitation link that leads directly to your server.
Follow our quick guide below, and we’ll show you how to share invitation links on Discord. Whether you’re using the app on your computer or mobile device, we got you covered.
How to send invitation links to your server on Discord
If you want to add more people to your server on Discord, you can send them a link that invites them to join the server. Once they click the link, they can join your server immediately if they have an account.
You can invite people to join a server whether you’re using Discord on your phone or computer. With that in mind, here are our step-by-step tutorials that show you how to share invitation links on both devices.
On your computer:
- Open the Discord web or desktop app and sign in to your account.
- Head to the server where you want to invite more people.
- Click the server’s name on the top left and select “Invite People” on the menu.
- Copy the invitation link and send them to your friends.
You can also send a direct invitation to people on your friends list on Discord. On the other hand, you can right-click on a person’s profile icon, select “Invite to Server,” and choose one of your servers. They’ll receive the invitation through a DM on the app.
By default, an invitation link to a server expires after seven days. However, you can remove the restriction so that it never expires. You can also choose to grant temporary memberships or set a max number of uses for the invitation.
On the Discord mobile app:
- Tap the hamburger icon on the top left corner of the app and select one of your servers on the left.
- Select the “Invite members” button on top of your screen.
- Tap the invitation link at the bottom to copy it and send it to your friends afterward.
Alternatively, you can click “Share Link” to send an invite using one of the apps on your device. You can also send a direct invitation through DM to anyone on your friends list on the app.
To wrap things up
Now that you know how to share invitation links to your Discord server, you can go ahead and send one to your friends. You can also invite people that are not on Discord, but they first need to create an account to join the server.
