How To Hide Twitch Bar On Xbox One
Last Updated: November 11, 2019
Do you want to be part of the biggest game streaming community in the world? All that is needed is for you to join Twitch. There you can either see or create game-related content. You will find a stream for any game that you could possibly think of. I bet that there are people who stream their minesweepers sessions.
All that is needed to start your channel is a gaming console or a PC, and a good internet connection. Note that if you wish to stream from the PC, you must have decent gear. Otherwise, you and your followers will have the poorest of experiences. In contrast, streaming from a console, such as the Xbox, is significantly easier. You just need an internet connection, and a microphone if you want.
However, not everything can be so good; right? And unfortunately, this is the case. You may notice that, when you are streaming from your Xbox One, that an annoying blue rectangle appears on the screen. If you don’t know what we are talking about, there is a photo of the culprit.
Now, this bar could appear on either corner or along the screen borders. While there is no problem with some games, with others such as Call of Duty, not being able to see the entire screen is a disadvantage. In this case, hiding the bar is more than an aesthetic problem.
The first thing that you have to do is to launch the Twitch app. For that matter, hit the home button on your Xbox One controller, and choose the Twitch app.
Now, start your stream as usual. But this time, you will repeat step 1 again. After just a few seconds, a menu will appear on the right side of the screen.
The broadcast overlay bar will disappear just for a few seconds. As soon as it is gone, you must double click the home button on your Xbox One controller. Because it is quite difficult to get it right on the first try; you might need to repeat this process a couple of times.
Bear in mind that this is not an official solution. Therefore, it could be caused by a glitch and it could stop working if it is ever fixed.
What If I Just Want to Change its Position on the Screen?
Well, if you aren’t too annoyed to hide the bar, but you want to move it from a certain position, you must follow this process.
Click on the home bottom, and swing right until you are at the “broadcast and capture” section. Then, choose the first option; it is the one that says broadcast.
Swing all the way down on the drop-down menu, and click on the “more options” section.
Scroll down again and click on the option that says “move broadcast overlay”, now you can choose the position on the screen where you wish to see the blue rectangle with all the notifications.
Now, head back to the home section and launch the Twitch app. You will see that the broadcast overlay is on its new position. Take into consideration that this will work for both the Twitch and Mix apps.
