How To Hide Photos And Videos In Google Photos
Last Updated: September 28, 2021
All the images you have uploaded in Google Photos are stored safely. Thus, you don’t have to worry about those leaking out or someone getting access to them except you—unless they know the password to your account.
However, if you still want to put up another protective barrier for your essential pictures, there’s an option you can try: hiding selected photos from your library.
It is very effective, especially when you want to keep confidential photos in a locked folder, so it’s hard for anyone to access them. Also, it’s an excellent technique for these photos not to show in your Google Photos feed on any device you have opened.
In just a few steps, you’ll greatly learn how to hide pictures in Google photos using your mobile devices.
Hiding Photos Using Mobile device
Hiding photos in your Google Photos account is now possible, but the app version on your phone must be 2.5 or higher. If you have this version, you can successfully hide the photos you want to keep private by following this guide.

First off, you must launch the Google photos app on your phone then make sure that your account is logged in.
2. Select a photo or video that you want to hide.
Scroll through all your photos and videos in your Google photos account, then select which one you would like to hide.
You can select several photos or videos and hide them all at once.
If you wish to hide several items all at once, you may do so by pressing a photo or video then you’ll be able to select as many items as you can.

An ellipsis button is located on the top-right side of the screen, and if all of the selected items are complete and correct, you must click it to reveal a drop-down menu.
4. Select the “Move to Archive” options.
From the options in the drop-down menu, select the “Move to Archive” to hide all the selected items then a pop-up window will appear on your screen.

After you’ve selected all the items you want to add to your archive folder, click “Done” to save all the changes made.

In the pop-up window, you’ll be notified that you’ve archived the photos or videos successfully. If you want to check the folder or locate the files, click the “Go to Archive” button.
Keep Confidential Files Secured
You won’t know when someone will try to open your photo library and scroll through all the pictures you have there, right? So, it’s essential to keep all your important videos and images protected by hiding them or keeping them in an archive folder.
You can store as many media files as you like in the archive, as long as you still have enough storage in the app. That’s it for this guide; I hope you remembered these steps well!
