Last Updated: April 12, 2021
Does one of your servers have a lot of channels that you don’t use? Do you want to hide them from your view? If your answer’s a yes, we have here a guide for you. We’ll teach you how to hide all muted channels on a Discord server. Whether you’re using the desktop, mobile, or web app, we got a solution for you.
Text channels in Discord give us space where we can chat with other members of a server. Depending on the owner or its admins, each server can hold up to 500 channels.
Although more channels give you more room for different types of discussions, they can also distract the users from finding the ones that they’re actively usually using.
Thankfully, Discord allows you to hide muted channels on an entire server. If you’re having trouble finding the option to do so, don’t worry, we got you covered.
In our guide below, we’ll show you how to mute a channel and how to hide them from a Discord server.
How to mute a channel
Before you can hide a channel on Discord, you must first disable its notifications. Once you do, you can go ahead and hide all your muted channels on a server.
To mute a channel on the Discord desktop and web app, open the channel from one of your servers and look for a bell icon on the upper-right. Clicking that bell icon disables all the notifications from the channel until you turn it back on.
For those using the mobile app, start by opening one of your channels and tapping its name on the top of the chat window. After the options appear on your screen, tap Notifications and choose how long the mute lasts.
