How To Harvest Giant Crops In Stardew Valley
Last Updated: August 28, 2021
Did you know that some crops in Stardew Valley can grow into one big giant crop? In this guide, we’ll show you how you can get these giant crops and how you can harvest them.
Just when you think you know everything there is to know about Stardew Valley, you’ll find yourself treated to fun little secrets, or in this case a pretty massive one, like the giant crops. Imagine waking up to enjoy your quaint farm life and then seeing a giant crop growing in your farm. So, what exactly are these giant crops?
What Are Giant Crops?
They are what they sound like. Giant crops are literally big crops. Sometimes, certain crops in Stardew Valley combine together and turn into one huge crop. These certain crops are Cauliflowers (Spring), Melons (Summer), and Pumpkins (Fall). Aside from being pleasing to look at, (who doesn’t enjoy looking at big crops?) these crops yield a massive bonus once you harvest them. Although it’s a random amount, you’ll get around 15 to 21 crops each time you harvest a giant crop.
The good thing is, with a bit of luck and patience, you can grow yourself a giant crop. So how exactly are you going to do that?
How Do You Get Giant Crops?
First thing you need are seeds of crops that can grow into a giant crop. Not every crop in Stardew Valley can combine into a giant crop. Get yourself some Cauliflower Seeds if it’s Spring, Melon Seeds if it’s Summer, or Pumpkin Seeds if it’s Fall. These seeds are easily obtainable and can be bought from Jojamart or Pierre’s General Store.
Now that you have these seeds, it’s time to plant them like you normally would. Till the land in a 3×3 grid, then plant the seeds. Only seeds planted adjacent to each other in a 3×3 grid can potentially grow into a giant crop. Water them everyday until the crops mature.
This is where you’ll need some luck and a lot of patience. Instead of harvesting these fully grown crops, you have to keep watering them for each day.
If you get lucky, you’ll wake up and be greeted by a giant crop in your farm. To harvest these overgrown fruit and veggies, you’ll need to use an Axe. Any type of axe will do.
- You only have a 1% chance of getting a giant crop, so you have to be patient. With some luck, you will be rewarded handsomely for your efforts.
- Giant crops will last forever. Yup, you read that right. These crops will not wilt even when their season ends. You can even keep them during winter. They’ll last for as long as you want or until you decide to harvest them.
- These giant crops will only grow on your farm, so the crops in your greenhouse or your pots won’t have a chance to combine into one huge crop. As a side note, your Island Farm also can’t grow giant crops.
- Speed-Gro is your best friend when it comes to trying to get giant crops. Fertilizer, on the other hand, won’t have much effect when it comes to getting your crops to combine.
So there you have it! That’s all you need to know to grow giant crops in Stardew Valley. Now get out there and get yourself a giant crop. Have fun!
