How To Get The Arthur Layered Armor In Monster Hunter Rise
Last Updated: November 6, 2021
Ghosts ‘n Goblins is an iconic run and gun game that pioneered the metroidvania style of games. It’s main protagonist, Arthur, has cemented his place as one of the greatest video game heroes of all time. Here’s how you can look like him in Monster Hunter Rise.
Gaming
2021 saw Ghosts ‘n Goblins return to mainstream gaming consoles after not having a new entry for over 10 years. Now that it’s back and better than ever, it makes sense that it would have a collaboration with Monster Hunter Rise. After all, both games are about venturing into dangerous lands and beating fearsome monsters to save the day. It’s only fitting that after beating the devil himself, Arthur would take his talents to Kamura Village to take on whatever beasts they can throw at him.
What You Need

The first thing you need to do is to make sure that you’re at least Hunter Rank (HR) 8 so that you have access to layered armor. Starting on October 28, 2021, you can claim the free add-on event quest called Knight in Shattered Armor from Senri the Mailman. Once you’ve claimed the quest, you can now accept it through the Quest Counter, if you’re planning on taking it solo, or the Quest Board, if you want to do it multiplayer, at the Gathering Hub under Event Quests.
Like most special event quests and Capcom Collaborations, you’ll need a specific crafting material to craft this special layered armor which you can only receive as a reward from finishing this quest.
Knight in Shattered Armor

In this quest, you are tasked with Hunting three monsters at the Lava Caverns. These are the Volvidon, Basarios, and Rathalos. These monsters can be relatively easy to beat on their own, but facing three of them in the same quest can be quite difficult. Which is why we would highly recommend taking this quest by joining up online in multiplayer to save you time and resources.

After clearing the quest, you’ll receive a bonus quest reward called Broken Knight Armor. Just like in the Ghosts ‘N Goblins games, Arthur’s armor can be destroyed when damaged by monsters. To play as Arthur in Monster Hunter Rise, you need to collect pieces of his armor and forge them together. You’ll need 4 Broken Knight Armor to forge Arthur’s layered armor and you’ll get about 1 to 2 every time you complete the quest. Needless to say, you’ll be doing this quest quite a few times to collect all the material you need.

As soon as you’ve collected enough crafting material, head on to the Smithy to craft Arthur’s Layered Armor. Now you can dress up as Arthur while doing quests and battling monsters in Monster Hunter Rise! Just in time for Halloween.
