Last Updated: August 30, 2021
Did you know that you could get an adorable bear Pokémon that evolves into a martial arts master? In this guide, we’ll show you how to get the Wushu Pokémon, Kubfu.
Like its name suggests, Kubfu takes a lot of cues from martial arts, particularly, Kung Fu. This Legendary Pokémon is a fighting type and has two possible evolutions. It has one of the strongest move sets in the game and can be an absolute beast if raised right. So how do you get this powerful Pokémon?
Master Dojo Trials
First off, you’ll need to have purchased the Armor Pass DLC before you can access the Isle of Armor. Here, you’ll meet new rivals and face new challenges that will test your abilities as a Pokémon Trainer. You’ll be taken to the Master Dojo where Mustard, a former Pokémon Champion, awaits you with three trials.
Your first trial would be to chase some fast Galarian Slowpoke who took a Master Dojo uniform. You’ll find three of them running around the Soothing Wetlands. Make good use of your rotom bike and you’ll catch these fleet-footed critters in no time.
As soon as you complete this trial, you’ll be rewarded handsomely for your efforts. You won’t get Kubfu just yet, but you’ll be able to pick either a Bulbasaur or a Squirtle from the Master Dojo. Both of these Pokémon can Gigantamax when they reach their final forms.
For the next trial, you’ll be tasked with looking for Max Mushrooms. These mushrooms are the essential ingredients to make Max Soup, which would allow certain Pokémon to Gigantamax. You can easily identify these mushrooms because of their pink hue and its swirl pattern on top.
Now, you can find these mushrooms all over the Isle of Armor particularly in the Courageous Cavern, Brawlers’ Cave, Forest of Focus, and the Warm-up Tunnel. A Max Mushroom will spawn around these areas every time you complete three Max Raid Battles.
Once you’ve collected Max Mushrooms, you’ll be given a Max Soup. You can also come back and make Max Soup whenever you have enough Max Mushrooms in the Master Dojo.
For your final trial, you’ll battle with your Isle of Armor rival. If you have Pokémon Sword, you’ll battle Klara, who uses Poison-type Pokémon.
If you have Pokémon Shield, you’ll battle Avery, who uses Psychic-type Pokémon. Mustard will lead you to the Battle Court behind the dojo.
Upon winning, Mustard will reward you with the secret armor of the Master Dojo, Kubfu.
So there you have it! It takes a bit of work to get this legendary Pokémon but it’s definitely worth it. Now get out there and get your Kubfu. Have fun!
