How to set up a PIN on your Viber account

If you want to add more security to your Viber account, you can enable the 2-step verification option on the app. In this way, other people won’t be able to make changes to your account or activate it on a new device without the code.

You can enable the 2-step verification feature from the Viber mobile app. Check our step-by-step tutorial below to learn how.

On your phone:

1. Open Viber from your home screen or app drawer and sign in to your account.
2. Tap “More” on the bottom right and select “Settings” from the menu.
   
   
3. Open your Privacy settings.
   
   
4. Select “2-Step Verification” at the top of your Privacy options.
   
   
5. Tap the Create PIN Code button.
   
   
6. Enter the six-digit PIN code you want to use and tap Next.
7. Re-enter your six-digit PIN and tap Next to confirm your decision.

That’s how you set up a PIN for your Viber account. You’ll need to enter this PIN every time you make changes to your account, including updating your email and number on the app.

Aside from protecting your account from changes, you’ll also need the PIN to reactivate your account in situations when you’ll need to reinstall the app. You’ll need to enter the code before you can deactivate your account on the app.
