How To Embed A Video In Google Slides

If you’ll be asked a question, would you rather listen to a presentation that purely presents texts and paragraphs or one that employs images and videos in it? I will a hundred percent bet it’s the latter. The reason is that the integration of images and videos makes the whole presentation a lot more fun and interesting, than listening to only texts.

Tutorial

Thus, when you create a presentation in Google Slides or any other similar tool, make sure that you keep this in mind and try adding them into what you’ll be presenting too. If your goal is to be engaging, the perfect technique would be to insert videos into your presentation, and here’s how to do it easily in Google Slides.

1. Go to Google Slides and click “Insert”.

The menu bar and toolbar are the first things you see when you create a new presentation in Google Slides, thus, I will assume you’re very much familiar with the Insert button on the upper-left part of your screen.

2. Select the “Video” option.

After clicking, select the fourth option from the first one which is the “Video” button.

3. Choose how you’d like to add your video.

Upon clicking the video button, a pop-up will show like the one shown below. There are three options you can choose from as the uploading methods. We’ll discuss them one by one as we go further in this guide.

Youtube Search

This is the first option that will be presented to you upon clicking the video button. If you want to insert a video through this method, you can simply type in the name of the video you’re looking for in the search bar.

Afterward, the results will show. Choose among them the video you’re looking for by clicking it. Then, it will automatically be added to the slide you’re in.

By URL

You can go straight to this method when you have already known the link to the video you’re about to insert. Again, simply paste it to the space provided and click “Select” at the bottom-left to save it.

Google Drive Upload

Lastly, you can upload a video straight from your Google Drive to the slide. If you have a lot of files, simply search for the file name in the search bar but you can also visit your shared drives, shared with me, and recent files if you know that what you’re looking for is located there.

Conclusion

You wouldn’t actually experience any trouble with uploading or adding a video to your slide because within just a few clicks, you’ll already be able to complete the process! Just a tip you might need for having presentations with videos, it sometimes is required that you have a stable internet connection to play the video you’ve embedded in the slides. Otherwise, you might have difficulty with making it work.

Anyway, these are just a few things you have to remember. When you’ve got everything settled already, then expect nothing but a smooth-running presentation!
