You can remove a song on a Spotify playlist, whether you’re using Spotify on your computer or mobile device. Follow our quick tutorials below to learn how to do it from both.
On your computer:
- Open the Spotify web player or launch the desktop app and sign in to your account.
- Using the sidebar on the left side of your screen, open one of your playlists.
- Hover on the song you want to remove from the playlist and click More (three horizontal dots).
- Once the menu appears, click the “Remove from this playlist” option.
Alternatively, you can right-click on a song and click “Remove from this playlist” on the menu. If you want to remove multiple items, hold “Ctrl” on your keyboard, select the songs, and remove them from the playlist.
That’s how you remove songs from a Spotify playlist. Please note that removing a song from a playlist won’t delete it from your Library.
On your mobile device:
- Open the Spotify mobile app and sign in to your account.
- Click “Your Library” at the bottom-right part of your screen.
- Open the playlist that you want to organize.

- Once the options appear, tap the “Remove from this playlist” option.

Always remember that you can only modify playlists that you created or have editing access. There’s no way for you to remove songs on the ones you don’t have access to. Lastly, changes made to a playlist reflect on all instances of your Spotify account.
