How to create a chat for your notes on WhatsApp
If you want to save messages or notes on WhatsApp where only you can see them, you can chat with yourself on the app. In this way, you won’t bother saving stuff you get while using the app on other third-party apps.

On your phone:
- Launch WhatsApp from your home screen or app drawer and sign in to your account.
- Tap the Compose icon on the bottom right part of the app.
- Select yourself among your contacts on the app.
- Type something in the message field and hit the paper plane icon to send.
After sending the first message to yourself, you’ll find the conversation on your chats list on the app. As such, there’s no need to hit the compose button to take notes for yourself.
On your computer:
- Open the WhatsApp desktop app or visit their web client and sign in to your account.
- Click the New Chat icon on the top of the sidebar.
- Select yourself among the contacts that appear on your screen.
- Type a message and click the Send button to save it on the chat.
If you ever change your mind, you can always delete the message on the chat. Also, you can erase the chat history by deleting the conversation from your chats list.
