You can create an avatar from the WhatsApp iOS and Android apps. Follow our tutorial below, and we’ll cover the steps to do so from an Android phone.

  1. Open WhatsApp from your home screen or app drawer and sign in to your account.
  2. Tap More options (three dots icon) on the top right corner and select “Settings” from the menu.

  3. Select the “Avatar” option on your Settings page.

  4. Tap the Get Started button to continue.

  5. Choose a skin tone for your avatar and tap Next at the bottom.

  6. Customize your avatar’s outfit, hairstyle, body type, accessories, and other details.

  7. Tap Done on the top right corner to save the changes.

Note: You can tap on the mirror icon below the Done button to open your camera so that you can check yourself while creating the avatar.

That’s how you create an avatar for your WhatsApp account. After creating an avatar, you’ll receive a sticker pack that you can use on your chats.

You can use the avatar you created as a profile photo for your account. With that in mind, the privacy settings for your profile photo will apply to it as well.
