By default, all your contacts on the app can check the stories you post. However, we understand that there might be situations where you’ll want to share a story with selected people.

How to create a custom story audience on Signal

If you want to direct your Signal stories to selected people or groups, you can create a custom story audience on the app. In this way, you can post stories that only a few people will be able to view.

On your phone:

1. Launch the Signal app on your device and sign in to your account.
2. Tap your profile icon above the chats list to open your Settings.
   
   
3. Select the “Stories” option on the Settings page.
   
   
4. Select the “New Story” option to create a custom story audience.
   
   
5. Choose the type of story that you want to use. You can create a custom story for selected people or choose a group as your audience.
   
   
6. Type the story name, choose the group or contacts that you want to add, and select “Create” on the bottom right to confirm your decision.
