It will take just a couple of minutes. But, there is one thing we would like to point out before you make any changes on your Fire TV. Make sure that you save the original DNS settings. You may need them if you want to revert your TV to its original settings.

Now, with that out of the way, this is how you can change your IP address. Let’s begin.

Step 1

The first thing you have to do is turn on your Fire TV. Then, go to the “Settings” menu on the top corner. Scroll through the menu and select “Network”.

Step 2

Here is a list of all the networks your Firestick can connect to. Make sure to “Forget” your current Wi-Fi network. To do that, select your network and press “Forget”.

Step 3

Now, select your Wi-Fi network again. Type in your password, but, don’t press “Connect”. Instead, go for the middle button between “Cancel” and “Connect”. Select “Advanced”. This option will bring up the next window you will want to work on.

Step 4

Type in your router’s IP. But, make sure to change the last group of digits. We will give you an example. Let’s say, your router’s ID is 192.148.1.1. What you want to do, is write the same IP but add numbers at the end. Like this 192.148.1.100. As you can see, the first part of the IP is the same. The only thing that changed is the last part. When you are done, press “Next”.

Step 5

Here, you will get a different window. Type in your original router IP. When you are done, select “Next”.

Step 6

In the empty area, write the number 24. When you are done, press “Next”.

Step 7

Open your account on this website. Go to “Services” and choose VPN Service or Your Smart DNS service. Find your Cactus VPN. You will need your primary DNS address. Type in that same address in the DNS screen on your TV.

Step 8

Type in the secondary address in the second DNS field. You also get it from the website. Select “Connect”.

Step 9

Return to the “Settings” menu on your Fire TV. Now, what you need to do is change the Time Zone. Make sure to select the U.S. Time Zone. When you are done, your IP address on your Firestick will be changed.

Conclusion

If you followed all the steps, you have successfully changed your IP address on the Firestick. It may seem a bit complicated at first. But, once you try it, you will find it pretty easy to remember. Now that you know how to do it, go ahead and give this trick a try. Let us know if you found this guide helpful in the comments below.
