How To Change Interests On Zoosk

Set up a profile on Zoosk and want to change it up? Want to see if there is someone out there who shares the same passions or hobbies? This tutorial will show you how to change interests on Zoosk and how to complete the SmartPick Survey for better matches.

Social Media

Zoosk is an online dating platform that apparently has several million users across the world. It has a lower profile than Tinder or Bumble but offers a similar setup to Plenty of Fish. The same rules apply too, it’s all about that image and your bio, so you had better get them right. This tutorial will walk you through setting up the softer side of your dating profile, likes, dislikes and interests.

While less influential than the image and the bio itself, this supporting information can still make a difference to how successful you are on Zoosk. Those people looking for something more meaningful or longer term will read your entire profile, or most of it at least. Adding this extra information provides a much clearer picture of you as a person. That has to be worth ten minutes of your time right?

Changing interests in Zoosk

You have the opportunity to set up your interests when you first sign up to Zoosk the same as you do with any dating app. You can also change it after the fact if you skipped over it initially or added something uber cool that isn’t actually true.

To change your interests in Zoosk for desktop, do this:

  1. Log into Zoosk as normal and select your profile picture.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the menu to Interests and select it.
  3. Select Add in the top right to add a new interest and repeat to cover all those you want to include.
  4. Select the ‘X’ icon to remove an interest from the list until you’re done.
  5. Select Save at the bottom right of the screen to save your changes.

To change your interests in Zoosk for mobile, do this:

  1. Log into Zoosk and select the three line menu icon.
  2. Select your profile image and scroll down to Interests.
  3. Select Edit/Add to make the changes.
  4. Search for a particular interest within the edit box and select it.
  5. Select the icon for an existing interest to remove it.

Using the SmartPick Survey in Zoosk

The SmartPick Survey is a small survey with some basic questions and answers you can complete to provide a more rounded picture of you as an individual. Some of the questions are very basic while some require more thought. Like the interests section of your dating profile, the SmartPick Survey helps build a picture of you as a person and helps filter potential matches before you have to manually sort through them.

This is an optional part of your Zoosk profile but I would recommend completing it as much as possible. It will give the potential match the information they need to make an informed decision which can help sort those that wouldn’t be compatible at all, from those who could be your next partner.

To complete or update your SmartPick Survey, do this:

  1. Log into Zoosk and select your profile image.
  2. Select Account Settings and SmartPick.
  3. Change, complete or update your answers to fill in the survey.

The SmartPick Survey should only take a couple of minutes to complete so is well worth doing. Some of the questions can tell a lot about you as a person so it’s worth answering them. If you’re planning just to hook up, the survey is less important. If you’re planning something longer term, you should definitely answer as many questions as you can.

Your interests are supplementary information that can work to help you find a more compatible match. If you’re after something meaningful, filtering is an essential tool to save time and effort weeding out all those matches you just know you wouldn’t get on with.

While meeting one of these in real life might go perfectly well, in the realm of online dating, none of that matters. Adding some genuine interests and answering the questions in the SmartPick Survey means your potential matches can make a much more informed decision about whether you really could be the one or not. As that’s the whole reason you’re using Zoosk in the first place, why wouldn’t you do it?
