Last Updated: June 30, 2020
Twitch is a popular service that allows people to stream while they are gaming. Also, anyone can join a see how the stream owner is playing; it’s like a YouTube for gamers. You can find a stream for any kind of games such as Minecraft, Age of Empires, Total War, Fortnite, and Call of Duty.
You can either follow or subscribe to those streaming channels. The difference is that joining is free and subscription is not. However, paying has its advantages. You will have unique features that any other normal user won’t have access to. For example, unique emotes and alerts, and an ad-free experience. Also, you will be supporting your favorite streamer; he/she will gain some money to upgrade his/her setup and provide watchers with a better experience.
But someday you may need to cancel your subscription because you grow tired of a channel, or you want to join another one. Here you will learn how to do it from your smartphone. An android device is used in this example, but it should be the same for an iPhone.
Before beginning, note that you can only manage phone subscriptions from your smartphone. Now, head up to the subscription that you want to end. You can search it by clicking on the magnifying glass, at the top right corner next to the gear icon.
Once in the channel itself click the subscription button, which is at the middle-right part of the screen.
After you click it, you will be able to see the channel overview. There you can see the benefits that you have and emotes. There is also the option that you are looking for. It is between the channel benefits description and emotes. Click on the cancel subscription option.
Alternatively, you can enter your profile section and click on the gear icon, which is located at the top right corner.
There you will see all your subscriptions; choose the one that you want to cancel. Beware, you can only manage from your smartphone the subscriptions you have made from your phone (red rectangle). Likewise, if you make a subscription from a browser, you must manage it from the browser; such subscriptions are highlighted with the green rectangle.
You will be directed to the same screen that appears in step 3. Click on the cancel subscription button.
After you hit it, the app will show you when your benefits will expire
That wraps everything; now you can cancel and manage your subscriptions at will. It is a very simple process. However, if after canceling it you start to have second thoughts, don’t worry, just wait until the subscription ends, and you can enroll again!
Remember again, you can only use your phone to manage the subscriptions that you made with your device. However, the procedure to unsubscribe a channel from the web browser is not so different.
