How To Block Raids On Twitch
Last Updated: January 9, 2022
Are you tired of countless raids from people you don’t know on Twitch? Or do these raids bring more harm to your community on the app? In any case, we’re here to offer our help. In our guide below, we’ll show you how to block raids on your channel on Twitch.
Twitch allows its streamers to “raid” another channel on the app. Raiding sends everyone on your stream to watch the target channel.
Although hosting and receiving raids can help build connections and networks on Twitch, some users prefer to stream at their own pace while building their community slowly. Other streamers prefer to build a loyal fan base before expanding and exploring other channels.
Thankfully, Twitch gives you the option to manage your raid settings. You can prevent everyone from raiding your channel or only allow specific people to do so.
With that in mind, here’s our guide about blocking raids on Twitch.
How to prevent other users from raiding your channel on Twitch
Although raids from other streamers can help your channel grow, Twitch allows you to disable the feature on your streams. In this way, you can control what’s happening within your channel.
You can manage your raid settings from the Creator Dashboard on your Twitch account. Follow our quick tutorial below, and we’ll show you how to do so.
- Open your preferred browser, visit the Twitch web client, and sign in to your account.
- Click your profile avatar on the top right corner of the screen and select Creator Dashboard from the menu.
- Click the hamburger icon on the top left corner, expand Settings, and select Stream from the navigation menu.
- Under the Raids, section you can choose whether to block all raids or only allow those from your friends, teammates, and followed channels.
That’s how you block raids from entering your stream on Discord. Instead of blocking everything, you can choose to allow your friends, teammates, and followed channels to raid your stream.
To wrap it all up
Now that you know how to block raids on Twitch, you can go ahead and focus on your stream without worrying about other streamers raiding your channel. If you ever change your mind, you can always manage your Stream Settings on your Creator Dashboard and enable the raids feature.
