Zinogre

There are a lot of tough monsters you’ll face in Monster Hunter Rise and all of them can certainly send you carting away if you don’t know what you’re doing. Zinogre isn’t any different. While it isn’t the hardest monster you’ll face in the game, it will still give you a hard time if you go into this fight blindly swinging or shooting your weapons. Zinogre is a monster with predictable attack patterns but can catch you off guard due to its impressive speed. Be wary of it’s electrical attacks as it can leave you paralyzed and vulnerable to damage. Once it’s weakened, it will enter a supercharged state where all of its attacks will hit stronger and faster. With that said, let’s look into its weaknesses and see how to easily beat this monster.

Weaknesses

Looking at Zinogre’s Physiology, you can tell that most weapons will do well against it with ammo damage standing out a bit when you target its Head. It’s also weak against the Ice element as well as Fire and Water. Its weak points are its Head, Hip, Back, and Hind Leg. There are a lot of weak spots you can focus on but ideally, you would want to strike it at the head. Striking the Zinogre at the head deals significant amounts of damage. If you’re using a blunt weapon like the Hammer or Hunting Horn, you can also stun the monster if you hit it hard enough on its head.

As for ailments, Blast and Iceblight are the most effective against Zinogre. Weapons that can induce these ailments can help you deal with this monster faster and are guaranteed to slow it down.

Best Weapon to Use

All weapons can do fairly well against Zinogre. If you’re unsure, just take whichever neutral weapon you’re comfortable with that has the highest raw damage. Personally, we’d recommend using the Light Bow Gun for this battle. Zinogre is quick and agile with lots of moves that can stun or paralyze you. Being able to dish out damage while maintaining a safe distance should help keep you from carting against this monster. Not to mention the LBG has one of the highest raw DPS (damage per second) in the game. A good LBG to use would be Hidden Eye I from the Nargacuga Tree. It can rapid fire the Pierce Ammo so it should deal a ton of damage. It also doesn’t have any deviation so you can easily aim for Zinogre’s head.

Useful Tips

  1. Zinogre’s tail can be severed so you can shoot a few Slicing Ammo at it to cut it off if you’re using a Light Bow Gun.
  2. Zinogre is resistant to a Shock Trap so don’t even bother trying to trap it with one. If you’re set on catching it or if using traps is part of your strategy, you can use the Pitfall Trap to lock it in place.
