How To Be Invisible On Twitch

Do you want to watch some channels on Twitch while appearing offline to your friends and other users on the app? If so, you can set your presence as “Invisible” on your account’s settings. Follow our guide below, and we’ll show you how to do so.

Aside from watching your favorite channels on Twitch, you can add people on the app as friends. Once you’re friends with someone on the app, you can send a whisper or see their online status and vice versa.

However, there are times when you might want to watch streams or play games alone without any disturbances from other users. Thankfully, Twitch allows its users to set their online presence any way they want.

Users can appear invisible to their friends, making it seem as if they’re currently offline. This feature is perfect if you want to watch streams without other people disturbing you.

Here’s how to set yourself as invisible on Twitch.

How to appear offline on Twitch

If you don’t want your Twitch friends to know that you’re currently online, you can appear invisible on the app. In this way, you can watch any channel or streamer without worrying about your friends judging you.

You can turn yourself invisible on Twitch whether you’re using the app on your phone or computer’s browser. Check our tutorials below for the steps you need to know.

On your computer:

  1. Open the Twitch app on your web browser and sign in to your account.
  2. Click your profile icon on the top right corner of the page.
  3. On the menu that appears, toggle the slider beside “Online.”

That’s how you become invisible on the Twitch web app. You’ll appear offline to your friends even if you’re currently using the app.

Please note that using the Activity Sharing feature shows your current activity to your friends when they check your profile or whisper conversation regardless of your online status. As such, make sure to toggle off the “Share My Activity” option as well to make yourself invisible even to your friends.

On your phone:

  1. Open the Twitch mobile app and sign in to your account.
  2. Tap your profile icon on the top left corner of the screen.

  3. Once the Settings page appears, go to “Set Presence.”

  4. Select “Invisible” as your presence option and make sure to turn off the “Share my activity” feature as well.

As we mentioned earlier, enabling the Activity Sharing option allows your friends to see which channels you’re currently watching or games that you’re playing regardless of your set preference. As such, you might want to turn off the feature to make sure that you’re completely invisible to other users.
