How To Archive A Teamspace In Notion

Do you have an inactive teamspace within your workspace in Notion? Do you want to hide the teamspace instead of deleting it to save its contents? If so, you can archive the teamspace to keep everything within it while removing it from the sidebar. Follow our quick guide below, and we’ll cover the steps you need to know.

Tutorial

In Notion, users can create teamspaces where people can organize information in one place while allowing users to have their own customizable space that they can use for their work. In this way, team members can easily access relevant information when working on a project online.

Aside from the default teamspace in your Notion workspace, you can even add more to accommodate your team’s needs. By adding more teamspaces with different purposes, you won’t cram all the information in a single place.

As time passes, there might be teamspaces that are no longer needed within your workspace. However, we understand that you might not want to delete important content that you may want to use in the future.

Thankfully, you have the option to archive teamspaces instead of deleting them to hide them from the workspace. Here’s a quick guide to help you use the feature on your account.

How to archive one of your teamspaces in Notion

If you no longer need one of your teamspaces in Notion, you can archive it from your workspace. In this way, you won’t erase its contents while allowing you to view them in the future.

You can archive teamspaces from the Notion desktop or web app. Check our tutorial below, and we’ll show you how to do so.

On your computer:

  1. Open the Notion desktop app, or visit their web client and sign in to your account.
  2. Click “Settings & Members” from the sidebar.

  3. Head to the “Teamspaces” tab under the Workspace section.

  4. Click “More options” (three dots icon) on the right of the teamspace you want to manage and select “Archive teamspace” from the menu.

  5. Type the teamspace’s name on the empty field and click “Archive teamspace” to confirm your decision.

Alternatively, you can browse the sidebar, click More options (three dots icon) on the right of one of your teamspaces and select “Archive teamspace” from the menu. You can view and restore all your archived teamspaces by navigating to the Archives section of your account.

Only owners can archive a teamspace on Notion. Also, you can’t archive the only default teamspace on your workspace.

To wrap things up

Now that you know how to archive a teamspace on Notion, you can now hide teamspaces from your workspace instead of deleting them. If you want to view an archived teamspace, navigate to your Archives, and you can even restore it from there.
